24,000ftlbs eh, now THAT is a gun. Can see why they doubled the weight on the other 2!

Only in the USA! read a thread on a US spearfishing forum the other day about modifying Glock handguns to dispatch fish. God bless em.

Hi guys, I know I am leaving this a bit late but I am hoping for some pointers. I am going to Jersey for the week and leave tomorrow. I am taking all my gear with me and am hoping someone can tell me what its like to spear in Jersey? Good spots and where not to go. Cheers.

Keep checking back as hopefully some of the Jersey boys will chip in at some point with more detailed info, but as it's short notice here's a few general pointers.

North coast is cliffs with sandy bays and deeper water, east is wider bays with headlands inbetween and generally shallow water, south is long bays with very shallow water, and west is exposed to large swells and given the wind at the moment is likely to be blown out. I'd head south east where the Violet Bank area stretches out into lots of sand banks and rocky gullies. Check google earth.

Also worth seeking out the Apnea shop on the island, lots of gear and will no doubt have much better advice on dive spots. Apnea Online Store

HTH.

Thanks Magpie, that's great I am looking forward at getting in the water as I now live in a freezing Scotland :)

Good luck with it mac and have a good trip!
I have bought stuff from the usa before and had to pay the import duty before getting the goods, can be expensive. I bought a gibson banjo once and the import duty was like six hundred quids!
Anyway, looking forward to some video...
