, There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

Folks - those attending the DB meet in August - please register your attendance so we know numbers otherwise we run the risk of people not being able to participate as numbers were not accurate.
Also can every individual who is coming register separately to ensure accurate numbers.

Hi there guys, I'm a newbie to the forums and a newbie to the sport!
Me and a mate of mine have just started off this summer (if you want to call it that), getting our bearings with gear and the like. Would be good to get to know some of the other Guernsey spearo's and freedivers to get some experience!
Where's the best place to start?

As the water dropped away from paradis this afternoon the water was absolutely crystal clear close inshore but as i island hopped as the tide dropped the water out in the tide run was like soup. In my rush out there i forgot my hat and felt myself burning. Had to ditch the eels and abandon the session.
Strolled from cobo south this morning along the beaches to grandes rocque. The water was crystal and nice for a paddle. Tell myself everyday how lucky i am.
Lovely to see the all too few holidaying families with the little uns whooping with delight in the shallows and remember the 70 s when the beaches were rammed every day.
We are very lucky eh !

vis ok here, bit of plankton, but good enough for fishing. Weve done a couple of boat dives this weekend. On Saturday we dived on the south east. We found the outer heads and deeper water pretty much devoid of fish. We moved inshore and fished the shallows. When I say shallow I mean belly scraping. We found most of the bass in 1 to 4ft, mainly in thick weed. Very tricky swimming stealthily! Cobus had the best fish of the day which was an ounce under 5lb. A couple of bigger ones were seen but they saw us first. Actually I think they may have heard us first, as Cobus unceremoniously fell overboard backwards. On the way back we started to wonder why our engine was lacking performance, I am embarassed to say we sorted the problem when we retrieved the anchor! Despite our stupidity we had a great time. Today, three of us venture out to the south coast. We got a good feed of scallops and best bass today was about 6lb. All very much looking fwd to the Gnsy Fish in.
