Jonny, ive just got normal floating line that came with my bobber, not sure if its of any spec, but thus far has done the job. Up for a dive this week, free after 6 every day and from 4.30 thursday and friday.

ok, what about Saturday for a boat-dive? might need more time...

Ed, are you still diving? any epic adventures???

Hi Jonny, hope u r doing well and looking fwd to the Fishin! We are! From your experience of diving the two fish in venues, besides bass, mullet and crustacea, what other species are likely to be caught? cheers mike

Lot of dogtooth tuna around at the moment and had a good sized bottlenozed dolphin the other day............ ;)

Good point though, Where are the venues?

I think most of the species on the list are fair game as they all move around a bit. i think it will be fun :) - i will be in video mode i think...

+1 on trelawney comment.

I'm thinking of going shore fishing tomorrow evening. Anyone have any idea what baits are catching and where to go? I usually fish from the lancresse kiosk carpark with live eel. Any other suggestions?

Been in a few times. Left a couple small bass. Not even seen any sizeable ones in 5 dives or so and managed to lose my blue tang diving knife on the last dive so hasn't gone so well this year!

I caught a couches bream in the boat today, in fact we had two on board & they were both caught inside a bay!
I have now got 19 lobsters for the fishin feast just need another 20 now!!

Hi Martyn, never seen a couches, how big are they? good news re the lobbies mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Went to the weigh-in today for a Jersey competition. Loads of fish including a 10lb+ bass an a potential record bream. I was disappointed to see a significant number of small pollack and ray, some as small as 300g, which were then put for pot bait.

Hi,

The jersey event u went to was not run by our club (Club Apnea).

cheers

mike

Here is my new gun alongside a 75 & a 90, it actually has a slightly longer band stretch than the 90 but if you consider the handle placement it is more like a 60 to maneuver.

Mike they grow big, into double figures, I think the rod caught record is around 10lb over here.
Only a few years back they were the most common bream we caught!

Great news on the lobster sounds fantastic. Not long now.Take it the green blob on the viper is weight or float ?Do you use them guns I would of thought you would use your own ! One week to go and I will be all packed ready to leave .

Hi, seems u went to the BSA/JSC national comp at La Braye on Saturday 20th? .........................the next day (Sunday 21st) was Club Apnea's Jersey "Open" Silver fish comp from La Hocq , 33 divers took part, including "The Jersey boys" , some bass, mullet and a couple of bream were caught..............did u come to that too?

cheers

mike

Hi Mike,

Only turned up to view the weigh-in. I was told about your competition but I didn't bring a gun with me, and 8am was a bit early!

Splashed out a fortune at Apnea so should at least be a little warmer for the fish-in this year.

Have thought about getting the new stuff wet, but being cautious with the big tides and no local knowledge.

Yes mate it certainly is his gun, shoots straight but kicks like a mule!

Mid-handle all the way for me :) more control and more balance.

looks like a nice gun :)

long swim followed by a good cliff run yesterday :)
saw a little conger - i dont see that many, so it was interesting to watch for a bit.
