What a fantastic looking gun!

Here is my new gun alongside a 75 & a 90, it actually has a slightly longer band stretch than the 90 but if you consider the handle placement it is more like a 60 to maneuver.

Back home after a long week in Jersey. Thanks for the invitation to join you this afternoon, Mike. Decided to leave early due to the weather forecast. After a very bumpy trip back, I think that it was the right decision, thinks were getting pretty bad by the end of it.

U didn't miss much, vis was ok, but pretty fishless, just had a couple of small gurnards. Best bit of the dive 4 me was seeing 5 giltheads all about 4-5lb, biggest I have seen locally, but they saw me first and I didn't get a shot. Glad u made it back b4 storm hit! See u at the weekend cheers mike

Just thought I'd update you all I have been getting the water a few times lately at the same beach I usually go to but tried some where a little different than where I usually go on that beach and proved better than i thought headed in to some weed and saw a bass of about 4-5 but couldn't get a shot of but very pleased to have seen it , carried on and saw a shoal of about 9 bass between 1 -3 and more mullet , but yeah I have found a place where they are regularly appearing :) happy days

Whos arrived whos been in and what have you seen and caught ?Anyone ?

I am hoping to hear who's caught what too!

Mike, seeing fish but not falling over them. They are here though. We are camping so only taking what we can eat that day. so 1's & 2's (ok being honest..... we are just giving Edin the fish order and sitting drinking cider!...and sleeping :hmm)

.....so plenty of fish left for you! :D

LOL.................Good news that the fish are in!

I bought a new Beauchat 5mm wetsuit from Apnea the other week. I was hoping to get in a few test dives before the weekend but it now looks to be unlikely.

What weight should I start off with on Saturday? Don't want to get in then sink like a stone.

Start off at 20 perhaps

Andy, unless you intend to do drops on the bottom i would suggest put just enough on your waist that isnt going to trash your back and then .5kg ankle weights if you have them.
you just want enough to stop floating uncontrollably. if you plan on doing some drops then its more critical...

QUOTE=Spirit;914233]Would 8kg plus ankle weights be a good place to start?[/QUOTE]

yep

hmm 8kg ankle weights, no issues with flippers making too much noise breaking the surface.....

Been away in Menorca for the week so just back, sounds like the weekend was a blast, wish I had been here for it. Was pretty keen to get back in the water. The bloom was in full swing and worse in some places than others. Added a bit more weight onto my belt and vest, was stealthy enough for the mullet buzzing around my head, shot a nice 5lb one again but missed some bigger ones. Not a Bass man in sight but heard a nice one was caught the other day at this spot....next time then.

nice one Matt :) next time...

We headed out to an offshore reef for a swim/dive from my dinghy; very very fishy with bass seen on almost every drop. I saw a pollack of about 5-6lb but of course it moved off when i dived. The bass were very wary and in clear water they kept their distance, but nice to see so many.
A totally epic day, and a totally epic bbq this evening... :)
lots of video footage downloading...

Sounds like a fun day Jonny, good to see so many Bass
I was in Herm for the day yesterday snorkelling around, shoal of about 7 mullet in 4ft of water between 3-5lb, swam close to them for a while, tons of very small pollack. Finished with a pint and 30 mussels at the mermaid....perfick
