PS for those who don't know them crpeaux are loading up on double figure bass & Mike has written a fantastic fish in report!

What a nice day for spearfishing... 10m tide 10m vis & plenty of flatfish around too.
I saw two smallish plaice two small turbot one small sole & lost count of cuttle fish that I disturbed while prodding the sand.
Fact was the turbot and sole were to small to take but i have plaice for tea....

I'm staying at Fauxquets campsite until Wednesday, so if anybody's up for a dive, drop me a message or a post on here. Heading to Vazon for a night dive tonight...

Lady's Bay Chouet area is normally pretty fish this time of year.
vazon is pretty big though most guys fish very close to shore anyway.

Thanks, I guess I'll just have to go down and have a look along a couple of beaches and see how many anglers are about. I was at Vazon with the children all day today and didn't see any anglers except out on boats.
When does the bass festival end? Can't seem to find any dates on the Internet.

Thanks.

Just got back from my dive. Not an angler in sight along the whole beach so got in. Pretty hefty waves breaking against the wall but great viz.

Immediately saw an enormous mullet but let him pass as I wanted bass for the BBQ. Swam on a bit and got a lovely bass. Another couple of minutes and a huge monster bass loomed up. Biggest bass I've ever seen; a double would be an exaggeration but it must've been a good 8 or 9lb. Lined up a shaky shot and skimmed its dorsal fin, aargh! Watched it swim away, wiped the tear from my eye and swam on. Another minute or two and another nice bass comes along so I have that one. Another few minutes and a schoolie swims up so I left it to grow and got out.
Back to the campsite with 2 lovely bass (weighed in at 5lb 3oz and 4lb 6oz) after only 20 mins in the water. Result!

We have been catching lots of bream from the boats too...from now to December is definitely the best time of year...well done Tom.

well done Tom! sounds like you were in the right place :)
I got up for a pre-dawn boat launch, expecting half of guernsey to be out with rod and lines, but it was very quiet!

I am going to the weigh in tonight as my mate has caught some good fish....

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! the vizz! waited all week to dive due to having work and wanting to dive on a low spring and now the weather happens. going for a grumpy surf:vangry
