Holiday Guernsey 2007

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I have contacted the tourist board, they have suggested & recommended the
ST GEORGE'S HOTEL. Tel 01481 721027.
This is a fishermen friendly hotel overlooking the bay & other Islands just outside St Peter Port town. £35.00 a night B&B.
Seems like a good place to me I think it was once a private house & is full of character, probably built 200 years ago. Nice & convenient location close to town & bars & only 3 miles from my house.

Cheers:friday

Yes that is it, just phone the hotel & book your room based around the weekend of July the 27th. I think some guys want to come for a few more days.

As long as no one warns the fish it should be a good weekend!

Done two single rooms booked for Stuckinsurry (Jim) and myself.
Deposit of £35 each paid and booked for Friday 27th July until Monday 30th July.
Not long now!

If the invite is still open I'll come over too - don't know any of you guys but I have flown over Guernsey so many times - working out in Toulouse for nearly two years and from the air the grounds look beautiful. Would be nice to meet and put a face to the pseudonyms.

Anyone else have wives/girlfirends/kids who are going over?

Podge and Jim, looking forward to meeting you. Travel wise the fast ferry is good but if a few of you are coming then you'll have to get together to arrange it especially if you are bringing a vehicle. I think it's expensive but if you're sharing might be the way to go. If anyone flies then I have some spare belts and weights. Definitely avoid weights on the plane and it's a pain trying to get your weights off just to bring the belt. Also will check out the hire car situation. Think it's £10 - £15 a day which is cheaper for a few days than paying for a car on the ferry.

James I don't think this is an invite only so all welcome.

Dave

i dont mind putting my van on the ferry load it up with dive stuff!
im taking the girlfriend!

Only just discovered this thread

Count me in,obviously i'd have to run it by the 'boss' but early indications seem favourable.
I'd like to be able to cement a date but it seems a little brave on my part.
However,i'd be well keen to meet some other spearos and maybe sink a few ales while we're about it (seems like the misses is pretty keen also)
Maybe i could bring my 6 berth 'portahome' over.
Tell ya what,i'll keep my fingers crossed!

That's great Scottie What exactly have you booked, are you bringing your van ?

Badlander you are welcome but I dont think motor homes are allowed in Guernsey.

i may be coming over to jersey in july as we now some peopel that live their.
so might come over to your island for a day

Good job too,it's like driving a boat.
I just landed a new job so it looks like all my trip ideas are on hold anyway.
Arse.

Ive booked a room in the hotel for me and the missus, might have to get the champers and roses just as a sweeter! ill be diving the van down to weymouth to get the ferry, if everybody wants to chip in with the cost i dont mind putting it on the ferry and taking all the kit over, save carrying it across!
