just looked on condor ferry site £155 return for me, my girlfriend and the van. its £83 return for two foot passengers so i don't mind splitting the difference! ill phone them when i get chance just to make sure!

Scottie3030, I’d make sure of your figures there mate I’ve just spoken with Condor Ferry’s and the best I could get was £301 for 2 people and 1 standard car to travel from Weymouth on the 10.00am sailing on board the Cat, with a return trip on the Monday to arrive in Poole at 15.10.

yeah somethings way out there:) i got the £155 from the web site entering the biggest sizes for the van pos! it came up around £300 if i was traveling on the sat! i better phone them just to check!

Those are good prices, £14.51 each way! I am wondering what the catch(es) might be (taxes, surcharges, parking, baggage charges,...)? Tempted, very tempted.
Ah...I was just about to book it. Taxes are one catch ... they are more than the farerofl:

Booking for 1 passenger
Airfare per Adult or Child £ 29.08 (per person)
Taxes and charges per Adult or Child £ 36.90 (per person)
Total amount of airfare and taxes due for 1 Adult £ 65.98 (total cost)

Looks like the Sheriff of Nottingham, I mean Gordon Brown gets the biggest slice of the cake:hmm.

I have now booked flight and accomodation too!

What are you planning to do about transport in Guernsey? I am thinking of flying from Exeter but obviously then I won't have a vehicle unless I take a hire car.

I'll look at hiring one locally perhaps or even a moped and riding around with my wetsuit on rofl

So looks like Foxfish has done the St Georges Hotel a big favour - (are they relatives of yours Foxfish?) They are fully booked and are surprised by the number of people trying to book so early.... They wanted to know what was happening....

I ended up next door in the Foresters - don't know anything about the place but hopefully it is OK (Foxfish?)

Tell 'em its Podges Stag Do - that'll get us un-booked in a hurry rofl rofl

Yep, the Foresters is fine (and has a good bar and resturant) and as you said, right next door to St Georges.

There's lots of hire car firms, including the usuals like Hertz, there's also a fairly decent bus service so you could all fit into a couple of cars for dives and use buses when you want to go off on your own.

If you're fit you could even get bikes, though its not that small a place and dunno how you'd get all your gear on them!

We'll also be able to provide a bit of a lift service too no doubt.

James, if you look at the link on page five of this thread you can see your hotel.

I’ll have my car and will be happy to offer a lift to any of you guys, as long as you don’t mind that it’ll be my fishing car and is full of empty water bottles and packets of Marlboro.:)

Podge, just a question, have you ever heard of a "filter in turn"? Because if you haven't you are going to soon! Driving over here is interesting!

I took my driving test on the Isle of Crapauds, is it the same deal?

"Filter in turn" I can’t see that working in the city centers over here, but as my fishing car will only go forward if I’m pointing down hill with the wind behind me I can’t see to many problems.

I found these pics looking out towards Herm, Jethou & Sark, taken from directly outside the hotel(s). On the extreme right you can see the Humps, a group of tiny islands, in the third pic you can see OMD fishing the humps with Herm in the background.
Roll on the summer!
