How to get GoPro HD wide to focus under water?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

so, what's the latest and greatest in the world of Gopro focus enhancement ?
somehow however, i'm starting to feel that for those deep open water shots, a little blur is interesting and maybe even welcomed in giving that "dream scape" effect...

If you want blur, it's easy to implement with most video software.

I rather have a clear and clean image to start with and then maybe add a few effects.

What I'm wondering is why Go Pro did not solve this issue themselves with Go Pro 2. Surely they know many divers use the camera's?

actually Kars, you're 100% right. better to have the picture sharp and have the choice to change that after.
someone said that they will launch the flat lens after this Dema. they already presented it since the last one. not sure why they have been waiting so long since then...

Just checked out the footage from tonight with the Oculus lens and compare it to last weeks footage with the stock lens.

Night and day difference.

The stock lens appears blurry underwater with both a lack of sharpness and distortion.

With the Oculus lens, it is much sharper (pool tile grout imperfections are obvious) and there isn't much distortion at all.

Finally - having an HD 1080p video camera where it is obvious / actually captures the data underwater!

On land, it is equally good as before and the installation is simple... just needs a small Philips eyeglasses screwdriver.

Highly recommended. They are available on eBay.

Here's a little video I took with the "Pursuit" flat lense for GoPro. Works ok for me, but I don't have another one to compare it to :)

Alina, wrong setting. My guess it's R3 setting. Unfortunately with pursuit flat lens it is, well....what it is

R5 (full HD) is Your best choice, try it next time and report back. I used the same lens and had no vignetting at all
