This has been video editing week it seems. This is my last one for a while, I promise. Mullaghmore footage.

Hi all. I have just moved ti Dublin and am looking to start exploring the seas as soon as my gear arrives. I would very much appreciate some info.

1. Is 5mm ok or do I need 7mm?
2. Are there any areas that are interesting around Dublin? ( I was just un Dan Leiry today and that rocky bit that is apparently a nudist beach looms interesting. ..?) If its no good around here where would you suggest? (Mind you I am not asking for spots just general areas) .
3. I need to get a few bits of gear (a knife and the string to attach my spear to the harpoon). Anywhere in Dublin to get that?
4. It would be really cool to get a buddy at least for the first few expeditions so if anybody is game let me know.
5. Any other bits of info are very welcome

The area is Dunleary... sorry about that and the spelling in general.

Hi John, where are you from and what type of spearfishing have you previously done ?,
Ooh ,and welcome to Deeper Blue .

Thanks. I am originally from Slovenia but have lived all over the place. I have been spearfishing in Croatia more or less every summer and other places in the Med. On occasion.

Got off the mark today (as did Derek) ,3lb Mullet , yeeeeeea ,go me :D

It was a nice dive to start the season off...vis was wildly different, in at low tide and the vis 100m out from the shore was 1.5 to 2m but when the tide started coming in again it dropped off to zero. Seen a few very skittish mullet and a good number of flounder...had to take a few home for the tea .....yeeeeeea ,go me :D lol.

Don't post up to many pics you will only upset the conservationists!

Right I've had enough of this shite.. You guys in the UK can shoot whatever you want whenever ye want and however many ye want.
Just one thing when your stocks are depleted or a total ban is put in place please don't come over here to hunt. OK?

Flight booked :)

But personally I'll be leaving those Dab sized flounder sat sleeping on the bottom.

However neither am I offended by the pic or have any ill feelings towards other spearos for taking them.
