Hello every1 , i"m the new spearo. i bought all my equipment 2 days ago, so should receive it tomorrow. Hopefully next week i will do my firs dive and hunt :D

Welcome Minde, work hard and keep your head down and we'll all get along just fine:D:D:D.

What gun did you get ?

Hey guys,

Looking to do a little bit of freediving and spearing around the Kerry area, if anyone wants to buddy up or just point me in the right direction.

I did my freediving course last year with Feargus, but didn't actually get around to doing anything else about it until now. I bought a diving knife, though...so that's good.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys.

Damo.

Minde = I have this gun and it's been great, abit finicky to get the line sorted after taking a shot at first but has been very reliable.

Did you get the reel aswell, usful if your after big Pollack as they tend to dive into kelp after you hit them.

Hi pedro , where did you bought your buoy? I have to buy something similar, look very handy .
Konstantin

Been meaning to put up a few pics of our Mayo trip just been mad busy with the new house. On the first day I dived L.W and within 5 mins very close to shore and in only 3M of water of which 1.5M was kelp I almost swam straight into a huge Pollack easily the biggest I've ever seen in the water possibly a double. I got a good holding shot and it dived into the kelp but in my haste i grabbed the shaft and pulled hard and he slipped off ....GUTTED.....

I managed to find another decent pollack also in shallow water and didnt make the same mistake twice. The following day I returned at H.W but the Pollack were still in the shallows and I took another good fish. I will definitely be back as this seems to be an unusual spot where deep diving is not required to find decent Pollack. There was also a pod of dolphins in the bay but they wouldnt come near me yet approached the kayakers without fear.

Looks like some guys went to allihies and absolutely slaughtered a lot of triggers. Seems to me that they just shot everything they saw.
Well done guys. Keep it up and there wil be nothing left.

Actually, I dont think it was an organised comp Craig... was it Pedro?

Hi all,
I would like to inform and invite all spearo community (and friends/families), that would like to meet up for the next bank holiday, that in August 2nd, 3rd 4th and 5th we will run once more our open forum.
As in previous editions the main objective is to share experiences, provide advice for new starters and cook what you get...sounds simple and nice doesn´t it?

Place: - Beara Peninsula. The exact places will depend on the conditions, but Billeragh, Cahermore and Allihies will be the main places to have in mind. The exact place could be determinate by the best conditions observed in the day or the previous day if possible.

Any doubt please let me know.

Wow, now that is excessive he took more in one drive than we took collectively as a group over two days.
I'm actually planning a trip to Cork and Kerry at the end of the month for 10days or so was hoping to have a look for triggers but I doubt there are any left now.
What's the story with the posing in front of the flag is it some club or something.
