Re: Leaderfins.com

I want to order from Leaderfins.com

Stereowaves carbon fin = 130 euros
Shipping to United States = 20 euros

total = 150 euros
grand total = 208.92 USDollars

Is this site the official and guaranteed website of leaderfins? I don't want to be rip off.

How did you pay for yours from leaderfins.com

You can order from Fins4u, and pay with paypal. Ordering from Leaderfins you must pay with wire transfer.

I read that somebody has a free checking account from Wamu (now a Chase) and the wire service was free.

With Paypal does the currency have to be converted to Euros or U.S. D is fine?

with paypal - you go on the page and it will directly link you to paypal, where you log in to your account, you transfer $usd, but it's up to Paypal how the currency is converted

in the case of fins4u it will be converted to british pound sterling, and paypal has a very shitty convertion rate...

I think you will find paypal currency conversion rates very similar to what you will get from your high street bank. The inter bank rate you see at banks isn't what you will get when you make a transfer ( this rate is for millions of dollars/euro/sterling), you will get a reduced rate like paypal for small transfer. Ie the sterling to euro rate is for instance 1.15 but you will only get 1.09 etc. Unfortunately I have had a lot of experience with this over the last few years! And not in a good way!

Oh and it's better for us if you use a bank transfer over paypal!

Re: Leaderfins.com

hey, the site is official and it will take about 1 month for the fins to arrive.

cheers,

Hi,
i would like to share my experiences with the "Waves" model fins from leaderfins. As I already wrote in this thread, I have the "medium" as well as the "hard" version of the fins, and all during the past summer I had lots of opportunities to use the "hard" fins in the ocean. I simply love them, they are amazingly powerful, precise, light and reactive. Its exactly the right stiffness for me, as I already told, a stiffness corresponding rahter to a good "medium" then "hard" if compared to other brands.

In august, I attended a class with will trubridge at the island of elba, italy, and in this occasion I was able to try a bunch of other carbon fins, especially c4 fins, among them also mustangs (25 and 30) and the "flap" model in different stiffness levels. well, i have to say that my leaderfins felt by far superior to all the c4 models. I also let the guys who owned c4 fins try, and they were so positively surprised that they wanted them immediatly. its really strange, but paddling with the mustangs, and even more with the flaps, was much more tiring than with the leaderfins. it felt a bit like swimming in honey. and the reactions I got from the other guys suggest that this is not just a personal thing.

so, again, these fins are really worth their money, actually they are worth even more. the price is good, the fin is excellent. a recommandation!

cheers,
ivo

Import Tax

I am ordering "Stereo fins WAVES" through PayPal.

Has anyone paid an import tax when receiving these fins from overseas?
If so, what is the common price.

I am also purchasing the Leaderfins swimming mask.
Any thoughts on proper fit, and safety for freediving in the ocean

mine were the price of the blades + euro 20.00 for shipping, that was it.

Don't use the swimming mask for anything other than swimming pool use it's plastic and foam seal

How does Stereofins WAVES compare to OMER Millennium full-foot fins?

I need a really good pair of fins this time since I bought Cressi and U.S. Divers in the past and they are sitting there wasting space.

This could be my last mistake then it'll be swimming bare-feet :blackeye

the Waves use the same foot pocket, but the blades are fibre or carbon (depending on which model you choose), compared to the millenniums plastic. Fibre and carbon is a lot lighter and more reactive compared to plastic
