new OMER pneumatic!!!

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I am in Victoria, which is a long way from where you are. I am not connected with any store. Have you worked out what your retail prices for the Airbalete will be, considering the lowly state of our dollar which is currently only worth around 0.5 Euro?

Hey quick question guys,How do you stop the barrel from separating from the handle on a cyrano?
I saw it being talked about somewhere on this forum but I cant find it now.
I think because of it I can no longer switch to low power.

Any ideas?

Uh oh:head:blackeye

I think I really need help now!
I tightened the muzzle and the gap is gone but now my trigger wont fire.

How do you guys fix this!:crutch

Hi Coral Sniper,

I had the same problem with my Moarisub mamba guns with Omer handle, but not sure it's exactly the same in the Cyrano. It is hard to tighten enough so there is no gap between the barrel and handle after you pump up because as you tighten, the inner tube will rotate and dis-align with the trigger pin. Then the trigger will not fire. So you have to make sure the trigger pin is aligned correctly while you tighten the front muzzle, which means you have to make sure it doesn't turn in back.

Hope you can understand what I'm saying. And hope it's the same as with the Cyrano.

Peace...

Yes that sounds just like what happened to my cyrano.
So in order to fix this should I twist the barrel the opposite way,and try and realign it?
Thanks for your help Peacenluv.

ah Victoria gatcha Pete.

no formal pricing as of yet, waiting to see what the numbers add up too when they arrive (after shipping, taxes etc) then we'll have a better idea. The OMER importer is based in Vicotoria so you'll see thm in stores down there pretty quickly (provided rhe stores get enough interest to stock the product.

but looking forward to it, as i posted earier i've never been a pneumatic fan (owned a cyrano oce but hated it). so we'll see how we go, alot of omers newer products have changed my opinion on speaing gear so this maybe the same.

Used to rep down in Victoria for a couple of years as well (based in Brunswick).

DD

No prob. Hope I can help.

If I remember correctly, try to align the trigger pin and screw in the back as tight as possible while making sure the pin is always aligned. then hold the back firm and don't let it rotate while screwing as tightly as possible the muzzle. It gets tougher to screw while keeping it aligned as it gets tighter. That's why it was always very difficult for me to get it tight enough so that after pumping, there is no gap. Hopefully, you can get it tight enough so you have as little gap as possible.

It's quite a pain in the butt to do cause you can't actually see if the trigger pin is aligned, but you can test while screwing by pulling the trigger to see if it's all good.

and after the Airbalete, the SUPER AIRBALETE!

On the coming week end Omer will unveil an upgraded version of the new Airbalete pneumatic, named the Super Airbalete (!!!).
I don't know what it's about, they're keeping this secret. Strange though, that before the regular Airbalete is available, they'll unveil the upgraded version of it.
The Super Airbalete will be part of a new brand, called "ONE", a new brand of the Omer group. The whole "ONE" catalogue will be disclosed this week end as well. One Speargun

this is rather odd but did you notice on the "One" website there is a sporasub sign I was aware that this belonged to Mares. What's going on did mares release the rights to Omer to own the brand?

Yes, back in the thread a ways it is mentioned that Omer has acquired the Sporasub brand.

You lost the latest bits...he he he.
Mares has sold the Sporasub brand to Omer. But the new Omer's Sporasub products will be totally different than the old Sporasub products: it's a whole new line of different stuff. It's all explained here: http://forums.deeperblue.com/spearo-board/81011-spooo-raaa-suuuuub.html

Now the odd thing is that in the agreements made when Omer bought the Sporasub brand a few months ago, there was a clause prohibiting to Omer to market any new speargun branded Sporasub anytime before 2010.
I guess this is why they created the "ONE" brand that will include the Airbalete reel and the mysterious Super Airbalete....

Thank you for doing all this research!!

Thanks for bringing me back into time! i was unaware of this. I am so glad that a brand such as sporasub will not be handle by the Chinese cheap labor, nothing personal but seems like everything that is being manufactured there lately brakes or falls apart sooner than later.

Now let me get this straight a speargun from omer under the brand name one that will ultimately leave sporasub waiting for their own speargun line or sticker till 2010... what will happend to "one" after the ban is terminated and they can label sporasub spearguns? 3 names under the company ..... where would this go...

Funny when you mentioned "the one" I thought right away that its probably a Sporasub gun...thus the reasoning behind " a better gun" before the other omer farter hits the market, seems Omer is toting the SS brand as their top of the line stuff, right?

right. And moreover: I suppose they're toting Sporasub as their quality brand (like Lexus for Toyota) talking of gear in general, and the ONE brand as their top of the line brand for spearguns in particular.
In the coming week end there will be a grand dive industry Expo in Rome and all these new Omer, Sporasub and ONE products will be finally displayed in public, and in real time the websites will be disclosed with catalogues and contents.
I'm particularily curious about the Super Airbalete pneumatic. I'd like to now if the "Super" prefix refers to gun lenght (could it be a 130 cm? mistery!) or to some luxury details (red velvet coated handle, diamonds in the trigger mech, natural silk as a reel line....)

I dream it might have a dry barrel system but I think not due to the mamba patent?

the mamba kit is patented, but this did not prevent creative people to invent kara-yo, tovarich and newer sorts of seals too.
Let's wait 3 days and the mistery of the Super Airbalete will be disclosed.
For how much I love you, Foxfish, I wish your dream to come true, but I haven't seen any sign of an interest of Omer for dry barrel systems, all along these months of reading italian magazines and italian forums.
Consider that we have 3 spearfishing monthly magazines in Italy, and also 3 spearfishing forums, 2 of which have a "direct line with Omer" section, where you may ask questions directly to Omer's engineers: they never let leak out even the slightest impression they could be working on a mamba-like system....

The "Super Airbalete" will most likely be a longer version than the 110 cm in the "Airbalete" and with a camouflage barrel or overall paint job, same treatment as Omer gives their band powered arbaletes.

There was an interview with Marco Ciceri, president of Omersub in the IFSN magazine (issue 55, page 10) where the acquisition of the Sporasub brand name was discussed. He mentioned that they would issue spearguns under a new brand name until they could use the Sporasub name, being restricted for two years from doing so. Well now we know what the new brand name is, "One".

looking forward to all of this they need to release this thing into the market already all this waiting is making people way to anxious to say the least.
