Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Foxfish, certainly this is my understanding of uk laws.
I paraphrase here but basic law is:
No spearing license is required
No spearfishing in freshwater
No restriction on breathing apparatus
No spearing freshwater fish in salt water ( one can only assume trout and salmon)
No selling any speared fish
No restrictions on day or night spearfishing including by torchlight.
No spearfishing of crustaceans

I'm certain somebody may have something to add to the above, but it is the rules which I abide by
 
Pretty much standard practice where I live, all the top restaurants will buy fresh shore caught fish from unlicensed people!
A 7lb bass will get you £40 at the back door if is straight from the sea regardless if it has a big hole in the middle.
Be warned - that's the dream - but you may get ripped off: I came across a rod angler that once had a bumper day with some big bass and he doesn't eat them. A local restaurateur suggested he take them round to his chef. Apparently they paid him a pitiful amount and he was still bitter about it several years later.

thinking of getting a new dive float. thinking of a beuchat float, enyone use one of these?
 
no, but seen them about. think they are inflatable though so you would have to watch any spiny fish near them. ok with mullet though!
 
Hey foxy I'm looking at eventually getting a boat like yours I'd love to come along and willing to pay towards the costs for the day it would be nice to bend your ear rev sailing in general you down the marina often?

Very bloomy yesterday. Was difficult to see anything.... Found a few small spider crabs and lots of cool jelly fish. Unfortunately didn't see anything worth taking.
 
anyone droppingby marina tomorrow? just planning whether to head out or not or carry on with refurb
