Objects found while freediving

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I found a load of Egyptian pounds once..........

Until i got back on the boat and realised they were out of my pocket!

didn't think there would be many egyptian pounds floating round Dorethea or manchester for that matter.

yo yo all!! :p

hmm not too many "weird" things... but so far

while workin the beaches.. tons of money, wallets, perfect condition sunglasses (and nice ones too, revo, oakly, bolle, etc).

found a case of twisted teas once at a popular snorkel spot... was like 40ft down..guess they had it on the edge of the boat, nad no one could go down to get it. :p

and best was a $6000 engagement/wedding ring set. that one made me a happy college kid :)

oh and gotta add, the name of this thread is perfect... my firefox taskbar button simply reads "Objects found".. so i can hide it from the boss, but as an IT guy, its not terribly alerting too him as opposed to "Facebook..."

Was diving in a lake and found a human tooth lined with gold! Wake boarder, water skier???? Was very strange. :blackeye

When I was a kid snorkeling in Hawai'i I found a man's gold wedding ring (had to dive down to get it). I still have it, must be about 20 years ago that I found it!

Maybe there was a skull nearby :( .

Might have mentioned this before but a few years ago a local diver picked up a fin which he took to the police station. Hardly worth it you say. Had a human foot still in it. Turned out to belong to one of our (many) dead commercial scallop divers.

Dave.

Sounds like the sort of thing that should be handed into the local police -- if its not claimed (in the UK at least) after a certain time, it becomes yours.

Woody Allen's "Match Point" movie plot tells me I'm with Mr. X on the ring issue. :t

From movie plot:

"The day following the murder (...) Chris gets a call from Detective Mike Banner for questioning in relation to the Eastby murder. Before the questioning, Chris dumps Mrs. Eastby's jewelry into the river, but by chance her ring bounces on the railing and falls unnoticed on the sidewalk. (...). Detective Banner figures out Chris' crime. His theory is, however, discredited by the fact a drug peddler found murdered on the streets had Eastby's ring in his pocket (...). The killer has gotten away with his crime".

I found a nice bomb last Saturday. I was looking for a handhold while on the bottom, and thought "Ahh, that looks OK". It was only while holding it that I figured out what it was. It was covered in a light growth, wedged between two rocks. The fin section had long rusted away, leaving the warhead. I'm guessing its WW2, weighing around 150-200lb, as it had been there for a long time.
