Objects found while freediving

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I'm sure someone put it there as a joke but I definitely found some handcuffs attached to pipe of some sort. Makes you wonder...

'Airplanes do not have transmissions.'
Wan'na bet.

Ya buddy. I am a pilot. The most you have are reduction gearboxes, and those are not transmissions. They only lower the final RPM of the propeller because some engines run faster than propellers are designed to run. On constant speed propellers you have prop control to control the pitch of the propeller, but that is also not a transmission. Reduction gearboxes are not even close to transmissions though man. I am not trying to be a jerk, I'm just saying that's not what you found.

Cheers man :).

No, just being a nit-picker. The last piston engines that I used had a super-charger (blower) with two ratios. A two speed gearbox attached to an engine to control the blower would qualify as a transmission but it is not between the engine and the prop. If you don't accept that then I owe you a cup of coffee when you get to Kona. No disrespect intended.

Ok. Odd find! Most I have found was a purple carabiner which I saved for a while, but I am really new to spearfishing and freediving in general.

I changed my last reply but you accepted it as intended. Good. Welcome to the greatest sport ever. I started spearing fish in '48 and I hope to do it again soon with the new gun I just got. Would you believe that I've been having clearing problems for a few years but today I dove twice as deep and twice as long than I ever did for the first fifty years. 46 meters and 3:15 for a 73 year old will soon become commonplace.

Dang! That is wicked cool! I just got a Rob Allen Tuna 1000, Mako 2 pc 5mm Yamamoto, and Mako Competition Fins 100% Fiberglass. All the other stuff too. In about 2 weeks I am going to be spearfishing with my dad for the first time without a guide. I am wicked excited but also a bit worried about which fish to shoot and stuff because I don't want to poach. Congratulations on your depth and time record!!! Far better than mine haha.

about a month ago i lost my d3 and found it diving a week later, i found a motorcycle once, when i used to dive in rivers ud find tons of stuff at the bottom of rapids from people tipping rafts and kayaks, knives wallets sunglasses tons of snorkel gear i cant even count how many small boat anchors i found in lakes.

oh yeah when i was in like 3rd or 4th grade an off shore drug bust resulted in some scuttled boats and money littering the coast for a while i remember one day seeing some of it and me and my friends scouring the bottom for it i think we ended up with around 200.00 in 20's

Ding-a-ling High Schooler in our youth group jumped off the end of pier in MN lake--with only pair of glasses on! Blind w/o them. I got a mask from rec cabin an started a search grid. 20 minutes later I found them! Doofus had to sing for them in dining hall that night.

I have in the bottom of my pool bag an assortment of coins, paper money, hair clips, ear rings, ball bearings, goggles. All from my time lap swimming.

I found a steel bracket, maybe for a powers shaft 6 inches in diameter, in Lake Superior about 5 meters down. brought it up.

That's quite a find. Where were you diving when you found the amphora?

:( Recently found a baby shark with a hook and small piece of cut line in it's mouth...
