What a shock. Very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. My condolences to the Foxens, the world will certainly miss a very special character and I'm sorry I never got to conduct the chats in person.
RIP OMD

May you Rest In Peace Dave.

Mart, Derek, and all of Dave's close family, sincere condolences from John and I. I wish we could have met Dave in person. He was a legend on Deeperblue and amongst the community and he will be sorely missed.

I love the photo of him on his boat. It shows the true zest and appreciation for life that he had and reminds me to keep on gripping it with both hands while it's there to be enjoyed.

I did,nt have the pleasure of meeting OMD but enjoyed his very informative posts. Rest in peace. Jolly

Old Man Dave was the best:king. I'm gutted. We were all richer for his help & friendship, we will all be poorer for this passing :(. It'll take sometime to sink in. Foxfish, Derrick & family our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Perhaps we can all take some comfort knowing that he was still fishing, traveling and enjoying life until a couple of weeks ago.

Terribly sorry to hear this. Never met Dave in person but was clearly a very good and kind man.
Thanks for all you did to help me and all the DB members.
Dave

Mart, mate, here we are for you dear friend.

Old Man Dave has been a model, and still is.

I can add nothing more to all the tributes given here, which all show how liked and respected Dave was. Unlike some of you, I was fortunate to have known Dave, and he truly was a mentor to me, and always willing to help out with anything. He introduced me to my first night dive, as well as helping out with all the great times we had when the UK boys came over for the fish-in and epic after - party at Foxfish's outdoor " DB Club Room".

He also posted many epic dive reports, as you have all no doubt seen, beautifully written, full of useful information and humour, and above all very entertaining.

He was also very supportive during the time of my own personal tragedy
a few years ago. Enjoy the final Deeper Blue, Dave, and look after my boy.

Colin

Wow - what a shock when I heard the news today. It took the wind right out of my sails... My sincere condolences to the Foxen family. OMD will always be remembered here, a true legend.

I'll raise a glass tonight, RIP OMD.

The fact that i got to be so friendly with a man i have in fact never met says everything about the man.He put me onto my first sole and in future when faced with the species i shall raise my eyes skywards and whisper the words "thankyou old man Dave".
How sad it is to lose such a man.
My thoughts are with you his family at this time. R.i.p Dave.

This is how I'll always remember Dave.
