OMER Zero 3 Mask

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
interesting fact - the Cressi Pinocchio has the best upwards (12:00) visability of any mask I have tried... bar-none! :D

Where did you get the Omer Zero from? And where did you get your Mystic and Pinnochio from?

Omer Zero was from Subprof (no longer listed on their site), the Mystic was LeisurePro I think and the Pinocchio was ScubaStore I believe.

Mystic is still my fav and I can't wait to get some depth with it. Heading to Dominican to test it out a bit.

A part of what makes a good mask for depth is how it compresses on your face. The Mystic and the Superocchio for me, both suck my cheeks into the eye void space a bit when compressed and reduces the volume further for subsequent equalizations. The Micromask does not.

I didn't even try the Zero on at the pool and already sold it to someone else.
4 ppl tried it on (including both of your remote students). 3 said it fit great and wanted to buy it (normal - wide faces) and one with a normal face said that it pushed on his brow ridges, in a distinct Russian accent. ;)

I've got some Sommap Flow / Vodka masks en-route as well to test for pool and depth training.

I'm REALLY considering using putty or silicone to fill-in some void space in a small mask that seals well, to improve the volume. Enzo did this in the Big Blue... :)

Received the Sommap Flow / Vodka Vision masks today. WOW!

I'm glad they are available with a clear lens and black silicone skirt finally.

The entire mask is super flexible / soft and light.

Incredible peripheral - best of any I've tried and it just gets better as you compress it. It is only weak in the downwards visibility (not something freedivers typically concern themselves worrying about).

Due to its complete softness and flexibility it will fit all kinds of faces! Note that the nose pocket is very small.

The Zero has a rigid "top-line" to the frame that prohibits flexing / bending. The Flow mask is the polar opposite. There is no frame to speak of, just a lens an a silicone skirt!

If I wear the mask up high (as in the pic) it does not rub on the bridge of my nose and I can compress it so that there is almost no void space!! Maybe 20-30 ml or so!! I haven't been in the water with it (that will be tomorrow) but I didn't get any hint at double / vodka vision or uneven lens distortion at all.

The shape of the mask actually reminded me of Robin. Boy Wonder, the Freediver!

This looks extremely promising for a depth mask.

I didn't understand how a mask with perfect vision on land could possibly be distorted underwater as much as touted... As soon as I put my head underwater I knew why it is called the vodka mask!

Double vision. I could concentrate and focus to get to a single image.

An easy solution is just to close one eye! Eyepatch diving? Pirate-Freediver?

I still think it will be good for depth. In Toronto we really need a mask for thermal reasons - fluid goggles wont be fun in single degree water.

The vision isn't good enough for pool use for me.

Apenaddict;

Is there any place in the States selling the Zero 3? I've Googled it (have been for weeks) with no luck . . .all I have pulled up is Subproof over across the water in Spain. I have one of those wide mellons, and after reading that post of how the fit would be perfect for us folks, I really have to get my hands on one ! ! ! PLEASE . . .if anyone knows of a retailer state side, do chime in.

OFFSHORE

My Omer Zero just arrived, what a sexy bit of kit! View wise it is about the same as my Omer Olympia in width but a good bit better up and down. The olympia was a fair bit better than the Alien I had before it.

So that was good, but maybe not quite as good as Omer's marketing made out.

BUT, it doesn't come close to fitting me. As both the Alien and Olympia from Omer fit well I hoped the Zero would be the same, but it doesn't, it's just too wide for my narrow face, just like Apneaaddict.

So, it's useless to me, anyone want to buy a brand new, never in the water Omer Zero mask? £30 plus postage, payment by paypal only. Let me know!

If Eric does not want to buy it, please send me an e-mail and let me know about the shipping to Florida, USA. If it has sold already, please let me know where you bought it from. Thank you

Righto Capt. I haven't heard back from Eric yet but I'll give him a few days and if not it's yours.

I'll let you know where it came from if I sell it to Eric, don't want to do myself out of a sale just yet eh! (Besides which I just checked and they do ship to the US but the shipping alone was about 38 euros!)

Hey, wait a minute - I've seen that super-hero somewhere before...

Well spotted, roflhope you don't get offended...

Received my Omer Zero as shipped from Magpie!

Will take in the ocean in the next couple of days!

I'll give you my take on the O.ME.R Zero. I think it looks like a great mask but I don't know about how it fits on the face. I know I like the O.ME.R Abyss. I ordered an O.ME.R Bandit and I think if you're spearfishing and freediving you should try it but I think it would be safer to get an Abyss or something and wait until they get cheaper and wait until all the reviews come out.
