I don't know if it effects me as far as freediving goes but it causes some serious problems when I go surfing the day after .I look like a newbie the first few waves or so.

Post-dive libido is my favourite part of freediving. Well, one of many, anyway. And for all those of you in warmer waters, diving in cold water is one of the world's best aphrodisiacs... 
You'll never know until you try it.
I'm surprised no one has brought up the sticky subject of (wetsuit)....lube. Perhaps because this thread would quickly fall off the wagon of PG13? :ban
This falling asleep after nookie thing is funny. A cliche. So it must be true. (Personally, I've found staying awake has wonderful benefits. Staying awake for another hour or so isn't really that hard.) Hypoxic tolerance training would help, I would think, for when you have very little blood circulating in the brain! :ban

exactly! Laminar is spot on about the cold water diving too.... but I always thought it was all about the warming up after the dive, not the dive itself....

I was speeking with some off my greek spearfishing friends and almost everyone is "hot like heill after a freediving spearfishing seasson. But the funny think is that this last about 10-30 minutes and then we are just very very tyired-
