Hi All,
in early today on the rising tide with North1. Picked up at 7am and through the jungle and in by half past. First dive since double sinus surgery in September. I was actually nervous to see how much difference if any it had made to my diving. breathing was easier but my left ear still refused to clear and I could feel that it will take a few dives to get all the winter stuff cleared! Vis was patchy and fish were non existent. One 3 oz Pollack and 1 million sandeels seen. Legs felt ok, lungs de-rusted and minimal brain freeze on entry. Can't be too bad can it. Enjoyable to be in again, too long out!

Found similar vis in Meadfoot Torquay late afternoon, bit milky but good 3m vis on the bottom. Only a dogfish seen, but good dive nonetheless

Boys just on the off chance any reports of viz after yesterday's winds. Finished nights and fancy a dip tonight. Slapton, bigbury, or closer to home. Come on mirror don't let me down mate

Sometimes we do crazy or just plain stupid things!!!
Just back from a dip at blackpool sands 22.30, flat but viz less than 0.5m, 1 small bass seen undersized so out then drove to thurlestone 23.45 waves crashing onto the beach in and out in 5 mins. Beach covered in kelp, debris & a couple dead seabirds. Obviously still seeing effects of dumping waste out at sea.
Stood at thurlestone thinking "what the f*** are you doing" just finished 8 day stint at work, so desperate to get in but do you expect any viz with the weather we've had this week lee really!!
Sorry rant over.

Just been in at meadfoot flat calm but vis 3 metres at best. Not going to get much better with the forecast for SE winds. Only a couple of wrasse spotted but better a bad day at the beach than a good day in the office.
Nick.

Was at Thurlestone / South Milton Sands beach this morning with family, conditions looked ok if anyone thinking of going in. Bit choppy but ok.

Anyone any vis report for Wembury - Bovisand areas? Considering an evening dip. Cheers.

Went in at Hope Cove today, tides not ideal but conditions were lovely to start with ,sunny, calm sea- but for some reason all around stayed sunny but cloudy over Hope Cove !!! went by kayak out to Bolt Tail and vis was excellent 7-8 metres , but sea became increasingly choppy but still do-able , only 1 silver fish (bass) seen but plenty of other life and really nice ground for diving ..... a few Spider crabs around but larger males hard to find , still came away with 2 nice ones though !!! really enjoyed being in deep clear water though , may try Torbay tomorrow, any vis reports ??? Terry....

Terry..
Walked maidencombe to ness along the coastal path, getting clearer but still patchy. Personally still needs to clear abit.
Finished nights this morning checked natural arch & thatcher gut both looked ok. I'm going to try couple night dives this week and will try to get down to salcombe early one morning. Desperate to stay local and dive teignmouth but still very iffy.

Hi Scrumpy , that part of the coast path is bloody steep is'nt it !! I might have a quick look this evening for an early ish dive tomorrow . or might just try rod & line for mackerel from kayak , or both maybe !!! It seems the only fish being caught are from night dives , but it does not really appeal to me that much , do you go on your own ?? Terry

Yeah I do mate, it's so awkward to arrange my shifts with mates I occasionally dive with.

Yellow fin tuna landed in Babbacome bay this afternoon. Not sure about facts just yet but it appears to be legit

Dave L it appears the tuna story is true. This pic was taken at Brixham fish market. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1368973782.352147.jpg

Very interesting, please keep us informed with any other info you might come across...

Apparently was caught in herring nets in Babbacombe bay and landed @ Brixham by a local
