Brown brown brown just as it starts to look possible? easterlies return. I love diving teignmouth but had one decent dive last year from maidencombe to ness beach. Also good dive at night around holcombe.
Thinking of mark down salcombe Friday night after late shift, in about midnight. Might slum it in the car with mattress and sleep bag. Need me an all singing dancing camper!!
Then early morning dip but strengthening SW might knock out 2nd dive spot ? Hope cove.
Hallsands would be sheltered but poss still affected by bloom/east winds, was looking very Brown week or so ago.
Mates hit chesil couple weeks ago but full on bloom, will give you a call when we are heading that way again for few pointers.

Over and out

I took the yak out yesterday evening to a local spot near Plymouth in search of some viz, and I can say that I found some. Lots of it.
Inshore it was about 6m, and offshore it was about 10m on a low tide. The alge is setling deeper in the water, so down in the kelp was a bit soupy. I didn't see any fish at all, so just rummaged in the gullies for treasure.
I saw another spearo in the water on my way out, but he han't got anything either.

also been in the water in the south hams. good vis (approx 5 meters). lots of pollack seen and several bass.

Cheers guys will hopefully hit the water tomorrow night, will report any finds

Hi gents.
Got a pass out for all day tomorrow (Friday)
Due to promising vis reports from the South Hams was gonna deviate from the usual (Dorset) and head down.
Due to wind forecast from West (13mph) can anyone share a little local knowledge as to how much that is likely to chop up the sea and muck up current improved vis?
OR would I be better heading for westerly shelter in Torbay?

Any advice appreciated in advance.

Was in on Wed at my normal spot, quite soupy but viz out to 3m, took a 4.2lb spider crab, plenty around, but still no fish seen, just small pollock...!

I found a bit of vis the other evening. Plenty of bass seen. Took 2 and a medium size Plaice

Boom!!!!! Nice catch Nick. That plaice looks plump. I'll be back on the fish once the scallop season finishes in a few days. Will have to hook up for a dive soon. Hows plymouth looking with these winds?

Thanks Scott. Plymouths no good in the SW winds, blows straight in. Not much in around Plymouth at the moment. Down west seems better. The bloom first started down west and it seems first to clear. Yes we will have to meet up. No Prisoners!!

Safely say there is no viz south devon way.
Went in last night first spot 22.30 out 5 mins later pea soup. Next two spots nicely sheltered but terrible bloom, met and had to politely tell a drunk to f**k off trying to gain access to my car as he'd seen my sleeping bag. Moved over to other side of south hams into SW winds which had really picked up, saw 2 small bass but thrown all over the place so enoughs enough headed home was going to stay for am dive but really no point. Must start to clear soon, Cornwall reports looking better. Just checked out few spots in the bay brownie green with hints of grey - oh joy!!!!!!!! Yes at the moment I am a Miserable *******!!

Anyone got a vis report for Thurlestone / Plymouth? Considering evening dip tonight. Will be hoping to dive somewhere in the Bay on Thurs eve too (tonight would be a bonus).
Cheers.

patchy 3m near bigbury yesterday. 4 bass seen, none taken. loads of pollack and fry. vis will be clearing by the hour in this weather. ill be back in tomorrow!
