The Somerset poacher is heading this way for a weekend of carnage. Any viz reports for him hallsands to brixham. Could he be linked to mirrors post above?

Well just back from what can only be described as the worst dive for a long long time. Happy to give location ness beach shaldon, as I won't be going there again for a long time. Big shift in sand deposits, fine sand replacing more shingle base. Milky 1-2m with a strong surface wind, 2 schoolies seen with hundreds of red mullet but none worth taking. My fault as should have realised there wouldnt be any shelter from the wind whipping up the surface, making it a constant battle. Good luck to anyone getting in this weekend.
Rant over!! Carry on.

for all you genuine night spearos that have a sense of humour, not easly offended and can take a bit of banter....I have started a UK spearfishing without the aid of daylight FB group, myself or one of my admin will have to approve you.

Hi Stan.
Please try and keep specific locations and dive sites off the open forum. Remember, it's not only divers that read the posts. The last thing you want is a gill net strung across your favourite spot.

There's no fish anyway so I wouldn't worry

Have noticed a remarkable lack of fish this year in Cornwall - even compared to last season. Very concerns to think we may finally have pushed certain stocks over their fiscal cliffs. We shouldn't be renting out our waters to French and Spanish pair trawlers. And lee needs to stop shooting all the bass!

Report from yesterdays dive. Rowan and I took a trip to a remote bay on the hunt for some bass. The tide was falling, but we were confident. The viz was pretty good, no swell, but it did get a bit gloomy when the sun finally went in.
We both took a lobster pretty soon into the dive. Rowan had a bass after about an hour in the water, and I, unknowingly, had one right behind me whilst I was waiting on the bottom looking the other way.
We're diving a pinnacle tomorrow, so bring on the Pollock!

Yea fair enough, I will keep locations to my self. Hope to dive Plymouth area mon morning after i finish my shift.

South Hams, choppy conditions with variable vis. Poor from surface but ok underneath. Started off with my float line snapping through the waves coming on to the beach, then bobbed around in the chop. Not much around, saw a single bass undersized and an incredibly cautious mullet who gave me no chance. Came away with an unexpected 37cm mackerel which is the biggest Ive seen. Took a lot of perseverance tonight so glad to have sonethibg to show for it.

S Hams a bit choppy today and very poor vis 1-2 metres and strong currents due to big tides , I was not diving just kayaking chatted to a guy and his wife angling in a boat and they had 20 + bass !!

Torbay today vis is dreadful !! 1-2 metres very milky/ grey water , I have no idea why, it has been calm and settled for quite a while now.Is it another bloom of some sort ?

It's all those daywalkers urinating in the water

I think it's just down to big tides; it's like it pretty much everywhere!

Patchy viz at Plymouth this afternoon. Ranged from 7-8m to 3m. I was following a big bass in the shallow strtingweed bed, but he was keeping just out of gun range. It was then I tripped over a 5lb sitter, so he came home instead.

Just got back from a great deep reef dive. Viz was very good, 8m vertical and 10m horizontal. We fished the rising tide, getting out as the weather turned. Only problem was that there were no fish. Pete got a stinking mullet on the way back in, but that was it, apart from the ubiquitous baby Pollock. Comfortably managed a 3+min breath hold, but nothing big appeared.

Any weekends thoughts chaps? Improving conditions/worsening conditions. Bit East here. Tribs
Out

Just because you can't find them does not mean they aint there !! ha ha Impressed with the breath hold though !! I have been feeling good with myself getting close to 2 minutes, now I feel crap again and still no fish !! ( yes I know they are there !) Is that vis fairly local ?
