No Mate, but I did get in today in Shoalstone to some of the worst viz ive seen in ages, couldnt see past the tip of my spear. So I swam around to the rocks we went to and collected a few scallops. When we going for the spiders mate?

Dived babbacombe today. Vis was 2 meters in places- suprising after yesterdays weather. The the sea was like glass and the sun was shining. Fantastic to see the first day of summer in by having a dive! In for almost two hours. Saw no life at all but loved it all the same! Couple of nobs whizzing around on jet skis which worried me a bit.

Good Effort Dave, sound like you enjoyed it, I was going to give babbacombe a go but thought my car needed a rest and that hill would do it no favours.

I got in today at meadfoot to have a poke about but like dave I saw nothing. swell had churned the water into a cloudy mess and I couldnt even see the rocks I kept bumping into. further out it cleared up to around 3 meters on the bottom but after and hour and a half I got out only to have to walk back to the car barefoot as I forgot my shoes OUCH.

Fish of the month starts tomorrow YYYEEEEAAAHHHH !!!!!!!

HELP

The GIRLFRIENDS moaning about the smell of my wetsuit in the bathroom and says its time for it to go the washing machine. Now usually I just rinse it off under the tap but I think it might be time for a proper wash.
Anyone stuck theres in a washing machine?

its neoprene on the inside ( need lube to get it in:t)

Washing machine would be a really bad idea. Lukewarm water with a little bit of clothes washing detergent in the bath would be a lot better. If you want to be posh there are some special wetsuit washing liquids with names like "piss off" which you can use instead of ordinary detergent but I've never bothered and my suit is allowed in the bedroom and I am allowed in the bed so I guess the results are OK :)

Have to say spiderman I googled the "piss off" washing liquid as I thought I smelt an APRIL FOOL.............but you were right,,,,,sorry,,,,, sounds like a pretty good stuff might invest in some as it will last me 6 months and only costs £6.

I got in today in meadfoot to some suprisingly good viz, I dived the outer reef on high tide and bagged a cuttlefish which is a personal first and my first entry for Fish of the month. other than the cuttlefish and a handful of doggies I saw no other fish. Dived 8 meters and hung around the bottom for a while but nothing. Lasted 1 hour 20 mintues and got out as I could no longer feel my feet.

Worth buying for the name alone...

Her: "What are you going to do about that stinky wetsuit?"

You: "Piss Off"

On second thoughts sleeping in the shed is no fun

I just use a load of anti bac soap as a lube and then wash the suit over with fresh water after my dive, mine smells ok. And I piss in it loads.

Dave do you use a 2 piece spearo suit. I had a surf suit last year and never had any problems, I find with my spearo suit now it just doesnt leave and hangs around..if you know what I mean

Always put mine in the washer at 30c and it smells beautiful every time.

Just an opinion

Tribs.

Had my first dive of the year today at Oddicombe/Babbacombe. Viz a bit disappointing considering we have been having westerly wind recently, water temp 10 degrees, no fish to be seen. There were a lot of paired up masked crabs around and the dead man's fingers have all got their tentacles back so there are signs of life about though. Found 4 scallops, 2 of which were big enough to bring home.

Dived Budleigh today, found three nice size brown crabs which i had for dinner. Bought myself a nice camera for underwater picture shooting, fuji F50. Cannot wait to try it. No sign of spider crabs up here yet Scott. I m off to France tomorrow night until the 18th. Will go diving while overthere, keep u informed. When i get back, will prob be diving on the 19th if you are around.

There was one solitary one at Babbacombe yesterday

did you have a big enough pot then :)

Dived thurlestone today around the wreck, saw some big wrasse but nothing else, The viz around the wreck was pretty good, 3 to 4 meters in places had a good poke around, nice dive but I think I will leave thurlestone for month or 2 until the fish really come in

I've always left the spider crabs alone as they sound like a lot of work and I would have to borrow my mum's preserving pan to cook them in
