i will keep it short and to the point, All bass legal the 3 smallest bass where 1 1/4 lb the rest all over 2lb biggest 5lb. i have a good shot after shooting so many fish as i do this thing diving and not cyber diving, yet i dont think i could hit a sardine would be impressive to see though.
Stop exaggerating matey and go diving.

Maybe you would like to post your huge catch pictures on a sea angling forum or maybe even send it to your local fisheries officer and ask for their comments. I guess they wont be as kind as mine!
I nominate spearheads for a FOM Hall of Shame where those doing the sport a disservice can be named and shamed.

Nice catch boys! I hear that Dan is now showing his teacher how to catch bass.
Went in at Budders today lasted about 45 minutes on the reef before I gave up. I couldn't see the end of my 75.
I will be back in at the weekend, weather permitting.

Just tucking into a nice crab sandwich with a scallop starter from yesterday. Mmm... delicious!
Tong took me to a scallop bed that he found last week while on Scuba. Bloody thing was 22m deep! Ended the day with quite a mixed bag. Couple of pollock, a bass of about 3lb, flounder, cuttlefish and a dozen scallops.

Thing is Tunny, at least spearheads wasnt trying to claim that his smallest bass in the pic was touching 3 lb.

Tunny your bass was about 1 1/4 inches and claiming it to be 3lb. I dont talk *******s About fish weights!

Like I have said before - this is a spearfishing thread & members are entitled to post their catches!
However anyone posting huge catches (in spearfishing terms) will have to expect a lot of criticism for doing so!!
Personally I do not see the point in possibly giving our sport a bad reputation & bad press?
Why would anyone want to post pictures of lots of fish that are obviously not going to impress any of us but more likely to generate a lot of bad feeling?

Ben, mate, we all know that the camera can trick the eye (especially when smaller fish are laid out alongside larger fish), and there is no way that you can tell the true size of Matt's fish without a tape measure being placed alongside them in the photo.
For some strange reason, small (but legal) bass have a way of making themselves look like minnows on camera - and we have all witnessed that phenomenon on here a number of times (together with the torrent of comments and arguments that seem inevitably to follow).
I believe him when he says they are legal (why would he lie?). And the bottom line is that legal is legal - and all else is a matter of opinion/conscience.
Do we really have to go through this same pointless routine every time?

Agree with Sunfish, if you are into catching too many fish, keep the pics for your personal albums...
Ok guys you said to think about the future and i totally agree with you the only problem you are actually shooting the big boys with are all no to us to be the one who reproduce the most so the theory that you try to implying to us does not support it self it is simple the more you shoot the big boys the less they reproduce as the stock off the best specimen diminish correct me if i am wrong 
lets just all relax lagal fish is a legal fish i agree a picture of such a big catch may annoy some people so maybe not to post them would be the best idea

Do you honestly expect anyone to believe that you would not shoot a 6lb bass for the sake of the species, when you happily post images of countless mullet etc spread out on a plastic bag ?.
Your argument to this seems to be 2 fold.
1) you continue to suggest we stop talking about it and we should stop 'bitching' as you put it...
or
2) We should shoot small fish instead of large fish, which in essence allows a free for all on all sizes because you know as well as anyone on here that the larger fish are the most sought after.
Who are you trying to kid here ?.
A lot of soapboxes....blah blah blah....but in essence.....it's the point made above....we all know some fish are getting shot here or there in numbers and in some sessions, due to many different reasons......BUT, to save on the attention and heat...common sense the camera operations.....
Ollie is talking some sense here from a biological perspective as big fish are important to bass breeding and if you want to have least impact on the bass population then it is probably best only to take medium size bass between about 45 and 60cm length.
Having said this I don't know any fisherman (spearo or otherwise) who would pass by the chance to take a big fish, so in practice the best plan is still to be careful to observe lower size limits and show a bit of restraint at times.
