Good on you guys for getting in. I haven't managed it yet this year but the surfing has been good and there is very little promise of bass unless you're called shiny1.

just got my first dive of the year in and met the seal, I had a look for some scallops but they were all too small :waterwork [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q--9N-jTFTQ]Intova Underwater camera test - YouTube[/ame]

Hi all whent in today and the bloom is in thick below 2 m at the best and under 1m some places spoted 2 wrass 1 pollock no silver fish spoted

Got in yesterday to try out the new kayak. I can report that the viz off Plymouth is 10m and flat calm. We saw a few fish jumping, but nothing of any size. The water is still quite cool, about 9 deg.

I went in today at meadfoot, Torquay ,went for a long paddle in kayak first then went in for a dive for about an hour, saw very little ,vis about 4-5 metres ,but was good to get in and so warm whilst changing as well which makes a big difference ! Trelawney, what kayak have you just got and how is it ,and where was that vis ,within the Sound or further out ,(without giving away your locations if secret ) and at what tide ? high/low... flood or ebb ?

I've got the new Perception Triumph 13. Its a great yak, and a joy to paddle. This is a pic from Sunday afternoon. The viz was best on the Plymouth side of the sound, but it was pretty good all over I think. We were out on an ebb tide. I think it went as low as 0.25m later on on the day.

Can't wait to get in soon, called in at Venture Sports today and collected some new gucci kit - many thanks Anthony!

Ollie,
I do need to get back in the water. I used the last of my Mullet last night.
Served it with a nice tomato, Chickpea and smoked paprika sauce. I'm sure the French have a fancy name for it in Larousse Gastronomique.
All I have left in the freezer now is a few fish frames and some spider crabs.
Crab rissoto maybe???????

Siper crab tortellini yum yum

Just take the credit (even if its not due !!) I was a bit confused by that ! If it was not you who was it and where was it ??

"Man alive!" was an exclamation that we used to use when we were kids, when there were adults about, in place of "f*ck me!" (when there were no adults around we just used to say "f*ck me!").

When I wrote it in my post I wasn't aware that there was someone on here using it as a 'handle' - I'll avoid it in future to avoid confusion (next time I'll pretend there are no adults around and go for a straight "f*ck me!" - afterall, I think it deserved it).

Hope that clears that up. :t

.

F*ck me, there's no need for that. I knew you weren't referring to me, I was trying to be mildy amusing.

Alastair, I heard today viz at meadfoot is 5-6 m,

Only what a diver mentioned in the shop today, I make no guarentees!
