yeah, well here's my 2 cents...

I counted fourteen, but realized that the last one was Jay. :t

Hey Shane... these aren't a protected species and those fish have all had at least one chance to breed. And there is still room with the daily limit for more. It's a tremendous show of class that the dock isn't littered with undersized and juvenile species. I'd be so bold as to say that there are more than a few of the local friends down there with these two that are struggling to push themselves away from the table to tell them thanks.

You might want to ask for change from your two cents. :ycard

Do you even know these guys? What balls it must take to jump on somebody over the net:duh Anyway these are two of the kindest spearos you will ever meet. I know nothing they harvested went to waste...or probably even the freezer for that matter! Have you ever seen the size of a cuban family:D

Sven I'll bump your card one...:rcard

hi

I counted 14 to :D Nice catch man but Im still confused of the type of fish you guys get over there in yankee land :duh . I guess they must be good eating eh never see those fish here.

Shane dont worry in different places in the world fish are more common I mean 14 fish isnt exactly overfishing there might just be plenty of fish over there. Over here on the Reef its not uncommon to get 30 fish + which is still well within our local bag limits, take it easy man.

Aquiles I want to hear the story how deep you were diving that trip etc did you get any in really deep water

cheers

Overfishing ! ! !

The great danger for fish population is local fishermens who uses damn big net trawlers. They can take 13 tons of fish of a day not just 13. So no one can blame speros for that matter.

On the other hand real sports men obey the rules everytime. So try not to exceed the bag limit if you dive frequently.

BTW Aquiles how many did you get? Just to clear the number issue.

There are 15 fish on the table..;)

The first one is almost hidden and the last two almost merge..

Bag limit

Florida state laws says 10 snappers/person/day. Mutton snapper has to be more than 16". I think Aquiles and Jay were well within their limits and BTW, it is NOT easy to get a limit of big muttons. Nice job, guys...

Hey Murat... How is it that a clown that just got his first gun and fins acts so condescending? :hmm

sven

"How is it that a clown" :naughty Clown???:vangry watch you language man.

First, i just didn't get my fins and gun new. I just bought my FIRST longblade fins AND sold my gun to buy new one.

Second, ok... i am not a very experianced spero but i am diving for two years with gun and more than 5 years with my cousin without spearing, just watched.

I am going to fishing from 5 years old with a pole rod.

Time ago, you said it's not good to make comments about spearguns since you don't use it. I never said i am true or i am using these guns but, anyway i stop talk about Riffe or so so so....

But what is it now?????? If there is no room for beginners just unregister me ok ! ! !

Congrats on a great day in the Keys! Looks like you guys had a blast. I'm looking forward to hearing the stories when you get back. Diving is heating up here...are you going to be back for the tournament this weekend? Give me a ring when you get back in town and we'll get offshore.

Matt

Oh i just see that i recive unsigned negative karma saying "you don't know what you're talking about."

WHAT THE HELL I SAID ? ? ?

Someone is giving me unsigned negative karma always for nothing. I recived another one from "Trigger Mechanim Info" for nothing. I just said welcome to Dr Wong and i recived unsigned karma again.

As i said before i never mind that damn karma business but if someone had problem me he has to be brave enough to tell it to my face ! ! !:vangry

This is for you ! ! ! :rcard

No kidding great day Jay... makes me wonder why we didn't jump there at the Kraze! This place a locals only site? About all I'll need to hear is that the water during your foray was 80F, 110' of viz and hotties at the dock to wash your gear!

Nice grab fellas. Are those things gregarious, or did you have to search em all out one by one? And how do you finish em off? Icepick? The big carp up hear have such hard heads that you have to go through the back of the eye (unless you can pin em against a rock). Are those mutton "soft heads" :D?

I didn't have a knife for my carp. :head However, I found a soft spot coming up from under the gills. Just poked my speartip into that area and they'd go to sleep. :blackeye

hi

Jay just being curious but please tell me you used some sort of Euro gun to get those fishieeeeeeessss :D

You guys in the states are going into your summer eh what a feeling no wetsuit no weights ahhh only if I lived on the Equator anyway today we had 100ft vis on outer reef so its not that bad.

Murat dont worry I dont think negative karma is ever signed well not for me either, see if I can give you some positive stuff.

cheers

How amusing it is to read about Andy shooting carp while his boy is out slaughtering the muttons!:D

Murat, I thought that leafy stuff behind your pick was supposed to calm people:hmm

Yeah, laugh now tough-guy. My carp shootin is just as good a trainin as anything. :t You just point me to them there Gulf fishies and watch me string em up like the best of em good ol' boyz! :D

And actually, it's the wife-beater along with the stylish poor posture that's supposed to calm people. :t That leaf's supposed to be for thread issues in the Freediving section. :duh

Can't really see what's wrong with that statement to deserve such "smooth" reply by the Sultan...
All I see is a beginner that has learned a positive lesson by reading this forum and now has hard time with the same people who taught him that lesson...

You'll have to accept that guys - the long line of fish on that photo looks like a slaughter to any European spearo.
And by the way if we say the average weight of the fish is 4 kilos, there's a 60 kilos something pile of meat on that table...

I know it's well within you bag limits... But you are blessed guys! Just remember that you can lose all that abundance in less than 30 years... Just like we did.

It's the inference Ivan.

Much as with your contention that if "we" don't watch it, there won't be anything left, the implication to not being "REAL" sportsmen is waaay off the mark. The admonition to not exceed the limits is wholly misplaced. These two stellar examples of the spearo sport are so within the local rules that it's not even funny to imply otherwise. Indeed, I was to witness firsthand the local knowledge and thought expressed towards the resource whilst enjoying the comraderie at KK03. (And to note that the KK04 Invitational will happen in the Marquesas is tre smooth indeed!!)

Would any hootin' and hollerin' have been heard had those fish been photographed with 6 spearos rather than the several that were there in the background opting instead to give Jay and Aquiles the righteously deserved limelight? I think not, but then again, that's because I'm thinking before I hit the submit key.

This is a zero tolrerance for posers place.
