NC Diving

I dove with Russ Karnap this week 40 miles offshore of Morehead City, NC. We dove a wreck in 120' rising to 80'. I'll post a detailed report later. This is a cobia that I took off the wreck.

Here is an African Pompano from the trip...we did not get a chance to weight it but it was ~#40. I have other pics of fish from this trip but I will wait until I can scale them down. Anyone up for some NC diving?

I'm not sure how heavy the cobia was(25-30?)...I was at about 80' when I took the shot. I was just at the top of the wreck when I saw him come up and over the side amidst a achool of blue runners. I don't think he saw me until the last second.

I had the Pompano for dinner the last couple of days and it is amazing. One of the best fish for the grill I have ever had.

below is a pic of the new 113lb NC state record cobia....aye de mi

Some guy caught it on Rod and reel...it was 5'7" long!?!?!?! Mus have looked like a Bull Shark from the surface.

Looks like you guys had your "rally" caps on! :D

Good work, but isn't it illegal to hunt in petting zoos? :t rofl What, did you guys set up decoy mutton chicks in thongs or what?! :blackeye Goodness gracious!

Hey, that one looks like it was from a fish trap! :D Oh, wait, that's just Jay. :hmm

Good thing I can't give you two any more karma cause a whole lotta negatives would be coming your way. ;)

Both of you are number one in my book.

Then you'll ask when they stop you fishing in so many places.

C'mon man catch enough for yourself and family and then call it quits.

I'd like to see my kids taking up our sport but with guys like you I don't think it will be possible.

My 2 Cents.
