hey hunt fish, there were loads of bream around tody but like you said they where all very fast, they dont hang around. i saw quite a lot today though, will probably see you tommorow.

Hi jwells1989, went down to seaford/east end of the beach this afternoon. Vis was about 3 -4 m ,quite a bit of swell. Not many fish around but the few I saw were quite large . The 2 I caught were around 2 -2,5 kg each..

Hi DevonDave i have dived seaford and Newhaven a few times .if u have a few really calm days in summer seaford (splash point) can be good for bass or mullet i have had a brill also from that spot which was a bit unexpected but a nice surprise as it swum straight at me. Newhaven can be good but im yet to have much success mainly due to my lack of abillity to dive very deep ,if u swim to the end of the arm on the west side there are quite afew features for pollack bass and wrasse to hide in but at high tide its pretty deep iv had most success a few meters off shore for flatties hope this helps.

Hi jwells, yes have tried palace pier once , saw lots of Marine life but nothing of any size.Must learn to keep my eyes peeled for flatfish!
Hi Huntfish, tried Newhaven breakwater ,saw dozens and dozens of bass (but all schoolies) will try again to see if anything bigger has arrived.

yeah i think sometimes they are there and sometimes they are not,
like somedays you can go to a place and see nothing then another day you can go to that same spot and see lots of fish, depends on where they are that day i suppose and if your lucky enough to stumbble arcross them.

What type of fish are we talking about guys - 2.5kg?

I'll be at the Pier today for 1 ish. I'll be freediving for a change. Those Sea Bream are very fast, that's what I'll be after. Looking forward to trying by new Beuchat.

cool see you down there captain j,
hey foxfish, devon dave had 2 bass around 2.5kg yesterday at seaford.

You guys are getteing some good fish :) - What is a "sea bream"

i dont know maybe its different in gurnsey, its like a short name for a black bream, or i suppose it could mean guilthead aswell but we dont really get them here in brighton.

No mate I know about Giltheads, reds, blacks, Pandora, whites etc just wondered what you call a sea bream? Restaurants have a habit of using the term "sea bass" that confuses me as well.
The ones pictured are black bream & I think the flatfish are flounder.

the ones i caught are black bream and 4 flounders, and i think 3 plaice or i maybe mistaken.:)

I guess because we only really have black bream restaurants generally term them "sea bream", unlike you lucky guys in the more fruitful seas!:t

There are loads of Black Bream under the Palace Pier.

ah thats good i was worried as theres a small amount of wind today compared to yesterday. thought it might screw the vis up but thats good to hear.

Hey jwells went down to west pier yesterday from about 11 - 14:00, and saw nothing but Wrasse. Not bad vis though. Still good to get into the water, just wish there was something worth shooting. There was a lot of activity by the other pier, like jetskis and boats etc. which is why i didn't go down there. Obviously the wrong desicion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dammit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah the jet skies and things only started to come as i was getting out so it was alright and i dont think that they go underneathe the pier anyway.

i would say the west pier is better at high tide and the palace pier at low, i dont bother with the west pier at low tide really its just a bit to shallow i think.
