What is a "sea bream"

LMAO! Bream in England means the course fish.
Any bream in the sea is a 'Sea Bream'. They are known as Black Sea Bream, Couch's Sea Bream, Red Sea Bream etc. I think the most common is the Black so it probably is more commonly called "Sea Bream".

Strange that We also say 'Sea Bass' when there are no freshwater varieties in the UK... or are there?

Not much about. Checked out the wreck by the pier and bumped into Jwells.

Visability was the best I've seen in ages.

Had to go early for lunch with the wife on the boat, tis a hard life!!

yeah there was not much about only saw a mullet and a few bream. i spent the day looking for lobsters anyway but did not find any.

Hi pisces i was down the palace pier yesterday at about 2 o clock plenty of fish but either pout or small shoul fish nothing worth shooting i must have just missed jwells1989 i could see the jetskies as i was walking to the pier.
do u have a boat captainj there was one anchored to the east of the palace was it u, where is the wreck around that area?
did anyone have any dinner last night or was it just a bad day for it?

It was me, I anchored parallel with the wreck. The wreck was between my boat and the pier.

The wreck itself is an old barge, about 50-60 foot long. It sits on a bed of muscles. In fact the whole pier strucure is covered in muscles. They are all too small to eat though.

I did see two very large wrass inside the structure of the wreck. But not worth the shot.

If I had a big net I think you could have had a good meal of whitebait!! But no, nothing caught.

Lovely weather though.:t

yea loads of white bait i was hoping for an attack of bream but nothing showed, the water is getting pretty cold now, my 3mm suit is only good for about 1,1/2 hours so maybe next year ill give that wreck ago, how deep is it ? Have u ever dived it in the winter what do u think about cod being there iv heard they like wrecks?

Does all of our uneventfull fishing, signal the end of this year's spearing in British waters? Until april next year is it? only asking 'cause I only started spearfishing this year, and I'm not sure when it starts getting pointless to get out there!!! Can anyone out there enlighten us novices???
Hey did anyone watch the rugby yesterday????? What a day of sports!!!!!!!

no way when i went yesterday i saw lots of mullet and bream, but did not take any as we have lots of fish at the moment, i was out looking for lobsters really, on friday i saw a man spearfishing under the palace pier and he caught 4 and i saw them, so that sort of put me in the mood for looking for them.

hi pisces it's definetely not the end of the season , went to seaford today saw large shoal of decent bass ( shot 1 about 1.5kg ) ,also saw very big shoal of nice pollack , so don't put the speargun away just yet !

nice one dave seems like you have all the bass, i have been in a fair bit this last week and have only seen one bass which swam off before i got to it.

Well done!

Another very good place for lobster is along from the marina towards Rottingdean. BUT - ~I think they're a bit thin on the ground now..

I don't know how you manage to find the time, are you at University or something??
