Hi i dont have the suit but one of my guns is a venom 75 from spearo uk and found it to be excellent and well made, spearo uk seem to sell only quality stuff so should be well up to the job . Hope this helps

Myself and my dive buddy both use the Venom suit from Dave at Spearo. Now admittedly they are our first proper spearo suits, but we have been using them since september last year and the quality is superb - there has been no glue or seam failures whatsoever, the neoprene is soft and supple, the chest pad is in the right place, everything seems absolutely fine. I have the large, and im 6ft2 and 80kgs and for a non custom suit the fit is excellent. My buddy has the XLarge, and hes a bit shorter than me and slightly heavier (dont want to offend poor grant if hes reading this! lol!) but again the fit for him is excellent too. The crotch strap clips are good - not too big, and they dont get in the way. We have found the camoflage really good for the local area too! See pic....





PS... since then I have made little black neoprene covers for my dayglo weights!!!! Also, the keen will have noticed I have made forearm covers. These help to seal my wrists at the gloves. They work like a typical wrist support, and really do help! They are also good for protecting the suit in this area if youre clambering over sharp barnacle rocks!

Starting to despair , the forcast is for one low pressure system hunting another .
And I'm running out of excuses so as not to be dragged to the garden centre , help !

Hey guys, I sneaked into your patch today - don't worry - all fish stock still intact!

Dived Kingmere and Bognor with Paolo and Fabio. Strong winds, ripping tide and no viz! Arse! (although Fabio got a nice 5lber), I didn't see a fish all day, neither did Paolo! Must dive it with Eric one day!

Clive, you have got to know the secret spots. That and putting a bouy out the back of the boat on 70 foot of line.

That said a brave dive indeed to go out there in this weather.

Diving Kingmeer on one of the biggest tides of the year 6.5m in a force five was brave, miss or lose the boat and the next stop would have been Eastbourne, the big tides and strong winds forced the clear water into Shoreham 20ft + over the weekend but only saw one big bass. My mate took four up to 3 lbs for the frezzer.

Hi iam garry aka goose i think we met at chesil cove on the 31st of may . Unfortunatley broke my back at work the next day . Hopefully make a full recovery and be back in water next season . Meanwhile joined deeperblue to see what you guys are up to. maybe we could get together next season and have a dive shore or from my rib at some point cheers goose

Hello Goose , welcome to the thread , sorry to hear about your back .
Hope it heals quickly for you and the pain isn't too bad .
The weather's been a bit rubbish lately so not many posts , apologies for not getting a reply sooner .
Just a thought and really none of my business , but when the time comes maybe have a word with the physio about some pool-work , at least it's water .

I am new to this thread, and have been spearing down Dorset for just over a year now, I live in Southampton and was wondering what Shoreham pier is like? - If it is any good and the Vis is not too bad I was going to give it a go this weekend. Or if there is anywhere west of Shoreham?

Are there any serious tides to be worried about? - And if so how long before/after high tide/low tide.

Any information would help as I am not sure about the tides or good spearing spots in West Sussex.

Don't know anything about the local tides mate, but we are coming into springs nationally

Not much in the way of shore diving between shoreham and bognor a few spots that are miles apart. Most of our diving is done from boats

You could dive the east of the arms, towards Brighton, known locally as the Jenny grounds, can be a good shore dive on its day.

To the west of the pier ground is in very close, short swim of the beech, to the east is the outer ground, at least an hours swim straight out. Innner ground is really only fishable if weather goes/ stays calm and there is good viz.
