I have watched your video, if you don't mind I would like to give you a bit of advice. Leave the mullet alone and you will get more bass they always swim with the mullet but will come in behind them. The place you are fishing looks ideal, try and time your dive just after high tide when the fish are coming of the beaches and if poss make it last thing at night or very early morning. Also slow down right down relax and become part of the area you are fishing. Best of luck.

Hey eric, thanks for the advice,
you have to forgive my mask cam it always makes my movements look fast but i will try to be a bit slower off the mark, as for the bass, its nice to get them every now and then but i prefer the mullet, there good eatting and plenty in number and im trying hard to get people to eat them and stay off the bass, but thanks for the tips illed give them ago,

just got a new torch to start doing some night dives which should prove intresting,

Nice video given the conditions you were fishing in. Do you have the camera mounted on your mask? Not seen that before but like the concept! Well done on the mullet too, they are very good eating but tend to get over-shadowed by bass. Eric Aqua knows what he's talking about so pay attention..

Evening All,
just got back from a night dive over ryde at my normal spot was the first time i've tried at night,
got in about 11.30 about an hour after high and headed out over my normal laps and routes that i go along was abit scared and on the edge alittle but after awhile i calmed down abit,
after about an hour i was thinking ive made a mistake i should have stayed at home watched a film and gone to bed, and also wondering how theese gurnsey boys do it....
but my stuborness kicked in and i was heading on the same route as normal in the day, after a bit i came across 20 or so skool bass and they where just playing in the light, i moved on my way and left them be and head down from them about 100 yards and just out of the corner of my eye i noticed a flass of silver so i went and had a look peeking through the struts and got a shot of on this bass, not a big 1 by any streach but wieghts in at 3lb 15oz just shy of of 4lb,
was hoping for better put at least i did not come empty handed,

Hi james are u diving Brighton area i dived Newhaven yesterday vis changed from good to bad in about 15 mins , had a pollock and spooked a big mullet saw a few sizable Bass too.

went in yeterday afternoon off, got a plaice and a mullet vis is starting to get better again,

Yea went in yesterday had one mullet 4lb another 4 1/2lb and a bass 5 1/2lb vis was about 4 meters saw a shoal of bream but didnt get a shot off . water is great at the moment and looking good all week.

wow!!! - first snorkel of the season - just found new spot - 15-20 5lb+ fish, and one huge tail of what must have been a double figure bass. Such a shame i didnt have a gun but amazing to see the fish. -Guess where im going tomorrow.........hope its a regular haunt for them! Do people think that bass a pretty regular in the spots they take up - or do you think they move much from one day to the next? Heres to a summer of light easterlies!

It's my opinion that they're pretty regular, even from year to year, so look after any good holding spots you find. Good luck with it.

Went there again today - fish still there. Got one at 6,3lb, saw others but im only going to eat one!

Here's to a summer of no easterlies at all .

Paddled to the far mullbury yesterday , armed with some crap co-ordinates from the Sussex Divers Guide , despite these eventually found the buoy . By now though the tide was turning and as I'd promised an early return I did not stay long .
A good site to which I'll definitely return ( long paddle back to Bognor against the tide though , jeeze I'm so unfit ) .
Vis' was quite good , temp' 17* , fish seen but none taken .
