I'm afraid, that Sussex coast is hopeless this season

* Tue 26/06 High tide @ 3:30am-5:30am: Brighton Palace pier + west off Marina
- flat sea, vis. 1ft on surface /2ft in middle /4inch at bottom in 2-7m

* Thu 28/06 High tide @ 6:00am-10:00am: Brighton West pier + west off Marina
- low swell, vis. 5ft on surface /4ft in middle /2ft at bottom in 4-8m

* Toady the WEATHER is back again !

... Am I just wasting my time and energy down there?
... Should I just sit on my *** in London and keep dreaming about freediving & spearfishing on-line?

Nope ! join in the Guernsey Deeper Blue Fish in Sat 4th and Sunday 5th August. Vis is usually much better and usually plenty of fish too!

We've had unseasonably high winds over the last few weeks and plenty of rain. I'm guessing it's not always that bad. I can see though that a train trip with all the gear and getting 2ft viz is a little much after a while!

Newhaven takes quite a while to settle down in my experience.

Yes - velvet crabs are deadly! Their red eyes just sum it up.

(with Brighton coast web cams and basic weather/surf forecast)

Brighton - Marina Surf Report, Surf Forecast and Live Surf Webcams
(with extensive weather/swell/tides forecast)

... there you can also choose other available locations

Have no idea. I'm just desperate to get back in the water. There's been quite a bit of rain and it's an estuary...so might be dreadful....but it might not....and as mentioned, I'm desperate to get back in!

OK...let me try another tactic...being 'political' with the truth....

Oh, apparently there is a MASSIVE shoal of TREBLE FIGURE BASS (it's in caps so it must be true) just hanging around down there. And if you're not into bass, then the gigantic brill, enormous turbot and monstrous monkfish that are 8 to 9 deep (piled up on each other) might satisfy? Dunno if you're interested?

Er...Um...yeah..but..er...There's been this weird mistralo-atlantic current that has brought them all in. Never seen before but definitely there at the moment.
