It was Brighton barnacleboy, I'm not sure what to do next time. Maybe I'll have to bury my clothes under the stones from now on!
I've been reading online about some concrete blocks down near black rock that is swarming with bass? Can anyone confirm this and or give any better locations? I can't wait to get back out!

Hi guys, sorry to hear about clothes being nicked from the beach - I've been fishing in Brighton for the last couple of years in several different spots and never had my clothes or bag pinched. Maybe I've just been lucky, but just in case I'll share my cunning strategy...

1. Wear scabby clothes
2. Don't put them in a bag - one object, easy to steal, several objects a bit more time consuming. Also, I figure that if people can see my scabby clothes, they're less likely to want to pinch them
3. Leave them in a pile, topped off by your pants. This way anyone who wants to steal my things has to go through my greasy moth eaten Y fronts first. I reckon that anyone who is desperate enough to do that probably needs the clothes more than I do.

Like I say, it may be pure luck but it seems to have worked for me so far.

Viz this morning looked ok with the easterlies and small tides, but my gear is in Portsmouth...grrr...

Just back from a dive at newhaven. Viz about 3-4m but very milky and lots of debris. Ate a bunch of chocolate last night (taste testing about 12 samples for a website my wife is working on) and felt queasy before I got in. Once in, the swell soon made me feel positively sick (I never feel seasick, so it was def the choc)..... Then I caught a mouthful of salt water... So spent most of my time trying to suppress being sick :(

On the up side, saw some bass there for the first time...but all well out of range and unlike pollack, they don't seem impressed by my aspetto! Bass are skittish fish aren't they?!??!!

Just been for a walk down the west beach at selsey by Bunn caravan park. They have nearly finished the break waters which will provide a lovely sheltered reef with about 5m depth at high water.
