Let's hear more (anything?) about:

-Natalia Molchanova's meteoric rise to freediving eminence
-Carlos Coste's nerves of steel
-Herbert Nitsch almost comeback (what did he make in practice?)
-Timo Jattu (where has he been hiding?)
-the 6 men in the 80-90m range, how do they feel?
-the NR in women's: especially Ananda Escudero and Mattia Malara over 60m?
-the conditions, the crowds, the buzz, the rumors during, before and after the main event?
-the safety system?
-What happened with Mandy and Martin? Were they really prepared to defend their titles? (vs full time athletes)
-How the new protocol is working (ie. visible sambas)?
-How many were using equipment other than traditional masks?
-The decline of world record events vs. setting world records in competitions.

Anyone want to help piece together the excitement of this event. Surely, there was a lot more than just the dethroning of M&M to write about.

About russian freedivers: they all (well most) train in pools and then go to Dahab for depth. In Russia, there's a nice tendency for freedivers to do yoga, and the other way around a lots of yoggies go into freedive and show good results.

yes i wish i had been at competition but a had a problem with ears, so i cant dive this month....kike made 90 met in krapanj this days and i sory thet he didnt go to nice because he is very good diver

well I am trying to build one here..... and I have a million photos of freedivers already and never took one of a counterbalance before!
 
OK, so whats next? If all goes well, I get Doctors clearance to get deep and hypoxic again soon, so back to training before the winter starts. Are there dates set for next years comps, Egypt I heard might be happening. Having missed a year, I want those diary dates before my staff get them.

I'm quite interersted in the cellular mechanisms described in that translation but it was too much for me to undestand (beacuse of the translation, not the mechanism).
