The better half will think you have just 1 gun and 1 wetsuit in your quiver, whilst you should get away with 5 or more! :t

You can apply this to pretty much anything!

Could I get away with 5 similar woman in my wardrobe?

Stick to one brand / make of speargun and one camo pattern of wetsuit. The better half will think you have just 1 gun and 1 wetsuit in your quiver, whilst you should get away with 5 or more! :t

Funny, i just got a new top on the sly which is the same as my old, only thicker, 7mm. So far so good but she isn't daft. Trying to stay out of the devorce courts!

Wife: Hey! How long have you had that _______? :martial
Me: Oh...I don't know...a long time! :t
Wife: Are you sure? :ko
Me: Well, yeah...look how OLD this is! Wouldn't it look new if I'd just bought it?
Wife: Well...okay. :inlove

Aquire vintage gear :blackeye (read spousal camoflage) and stay out of hot water. :chatup

And by the way, I'd don't have ebay & on-line stuff shipped to work just because the rates are cheaper.

Get yourself a 5 gallon bucket fill it half way with tap water add 2 capfuls of Baby shampoo, drop the masks in and head out to your hunting ground, take the mask out and whallah antifog, do the same while headed to the next spot!

If your following a nice fish and it holes up, to quickly come out again and whiz off, check the hole, chances are you have a bigger (more than likely same species fish) inside!

Baby shampoo on the feet helps my booties on & off. I also seem to get fewer incidences of cramps ( I have REALLY wide hobit feet). rofl

ps. i'm also a bit hairy in the fizog dept. and when i've been particularly lazy and haven't trimmed the face for a few weeks i use a cressi gallileo goggle which avoids the hairy patches altogether......takes a bit of getting used to though with no nose piece.

how do you equalize your mask? be careful with eye squeeze.

great thread BTW. My tip? hmmmm:
arrive at dive spot, relax and hang on to your float, take your mask off but leave snorkel in, allow the cold water to flow over your face, especially around the eyes. If you can stand 5 mins of it (hard < 15Deg C) you will be amazed how good your dives are as it induces a dive reflex that would take an hour to "build" otherwise.

inline with^^^but warmer water do what I call negatives...expel air from lungs swim down a few feet holding to anchor rope and wait for contractions then pull yourself up, do this a few times, preferrably with a dive buddy....this will induce the mammalian in yourofl

to complement Tone' the optimum water temp for the "no mask fast track" to dove reflex is about 12 to 15 deg C (colder and icecream headaches make it impossible, wamer and the effect is less) So in a nutshell: in warmer waters it will do little. The negatives are great, but you must be careful. In comps people do the warm up dives full-lung (non packed) and wait until the first REAL contraction (not those pretend tickles) and come up. Having a contraction itself brings on the DR fast. Ideally, you would do both: expose face in cold water, a few pull downs until contraction: good to go. Its sounding more like a freediving comp. preparation but it will make for a great spearing session too.

Hi Azapa

Could you explain this routine/thinking further please, it sounds like it might be something to help improve as I have never heard of this.

Thanks
Tribs

Lend friends who aren't that familiar with snorkelling shit gear because they lose it in the water. Why do they think you can't hear them if they have a mask on?????

Hey Tribs:

Check out "umberto pelizzari book" on google. Worth buying, its called the manual of freediving.

There are many threads that describe here too, look at "breathe up" and "dive response" in the search button.

If you spend a day or more rigging your new kayak , ingeniously attaching all the gadgets and gear you're sure to need , then allow another day to take it all off again because it gets in the way , can't be reached or causes you to capsize trying to get to it . :head( How embarrassed can you feel tipping over 50m from shore in front of a beach full of holiday-makers on a flat calm day , a few even applauded.:eek:

Senior X, should you, or any other DB friends be in the area of San Antonio I'd love to fix a traditional Tex-Mex breakfast of tacos con huevos (tacos w/ eggs & stuff); huevos rancheros; nopalitos; lengua; tripas; menudo (great if you're hung over) or a dinner of fajitas & cabrito! Drop a line when you're coming in. :friday
Sounds like a great offer, I look forward to taking you up on that someday. I love Mexican (/New Mexican/Tex-Mex) food but its hard to find in the UK - although I saw a new TV ad just last week for some, so it might get easier. We make it at home sometimes as its a family favourite. You of course, are welcome to join us for a tradition full English breakfast if you make it over to England ;).
Hey Mr X fancy a Trip to Texas, im Starving!!!!! :)
You're on!
No, No, No! Works great as sharks repellant! :martialroflroflThat's why the taxmen sneak up on ya--so's you don't soil ones self prior to the feast.
You sure about that? I watched a program of deer hunting in the USA (they have proper Saturday morning TV programs: hunting AND fishing). The presenter was discrediting Does urine as an expensive, magical deer attractant. To prove the point, he took a couple of litres of his own urine (the expensive Does urine comes in much smaller quantities) & placed it on the ground. Sure enough it pulled the dear into investigate - point being, some wild animals investigate the scent of urine to find out what might be around. I wonder if sharks might do the same?!:D

Tip 1:
Don't introduce your daughters to snorkelling as all your spearing time will be taken up looking at wrasse, pipefish and the like.

Tip 2:
Introduce your daughters to snorkelling so that you can enjoy magical moments looking at wrasse, pipefish and the like.

Might be worth having a pee to see if it brings the mullet in close as they are notorious for investigating things that smell a bit dubious :)
