Also, as a somewhat continuation to my previous post, I would like to apologies to Revan for the response I had given him in one of my posts. Although I believe what I said, my way of expressing it was less than elegant or polite. I apologize for this and would like to extend my gratitude towards you also for the work you are doing on your side with your fins.
Although I have never swam with one or even physically seen one, your contribution to the evolution of foil monofins is undoubtedly important and crucial. And for that I thank you too.

Clearly receiving a fin is a transcendental healing experience!!!! Looking forward to it!!!!!

On the way my friend.
I could start my healing process with the tracking number :) Can you please send it?
And when that day comes....

sometimes you never realize how much something means to you until you go without....2 days without swimming and I'm so ready to be underwater again! My Lunocet is just sitting there in my swim bag, waiting patiently :)

Thanks Noa. I too apologize (again) for any rubbing the wrong way I may have managed to do to anyone on this forum, including Ted. I am an enthusiastic freediver as much as anyone in here, and I can't just turn that off because I also make equipment. I think Ted and I are both trying to figure out how to make better equipment. It is not easy, as evidence by both our histories. Much of my development history has been kept private, but rest assured I have had many failures and setbacks of my own. You may not know this, but I was supposed to introduce a new product last year. It didn't work out and I had to start over.

I'm still trying to understand why some things work while others fail to meet expectations. I've identified several things I did that were basically a lucky guess as much as anything, while others that I thought were well grounded hypothesis of swimming physics, turned out bunk instead. I had a good discussion with Chipswim the other day and realized I had some misunderstandings of how the new Lunocets work. I think I may have a better handle on understanding some of the variability of metrics in some of the Lunocet videos now.

I do have to hand it to Ted for making some really nice looking equipment that also appears to be quite a bit tougher than your standard monofin. I'm also a bit envious of the tools he has in his shop. It is all quite impressive. I think I focus so heavily on performance because I cannot really see my monofin when I'm swimming with it, but I can feel it and feel how it moves me and so that is what is most important to me as a diver. This is why I devote what little capital I have to maximizing those things while making the aesthetics the best I can without letting it actually drive how or what I make. Hopefully, this helps you all understand my polarized perspective on monofins.

And.. did anyone get a new tracking number yet? Or how can you find out, if you are among the chosen few to receive a fin from the next batch?

My wife Laura used the Lunocet classic for the first time tonight at the pool! She adapted quickly to it, and noted that while it was easier to push through the water than a Finis Foil, she went faster using it than with the Finis. I was swimming in the next lane using the Lunocet Pro-we must have been quite a sight and did attract questions from several people. I was able to get a better perspective on the Lunocet classic (hard to see on yourself, and our son swimming butterfly is hard to see underwater due to so many bubbles). These fins are really beautiful underwater! Of course, the person it is connected to helps in that department ;-)

Sounds like a National Enquirer headline:

"Brain surgeon finds mermaid in local community pool"

:D

LOL it does sound like that! It would sound even more like a NE headline if it said "Chiropractor finds mermaid in local community pool". I'm actually a chiropractic neurologist/functional neurologist and not a brain surgeon. But, we chiros are also more likely to make the tabloids ;-)

Breaking news! Lunosapiens begin swimming in twos! Bet that scene repeats itself a lot soon!
Pods will start forming. We can be sure of that.
Then this new breed of human/cetacean hybrids will start populating the seas...

Such a sexy picture.

Anyways here are some numbers for you. All swims were for 50m straight, no turns. 4 laps(reps) each to ensure replicability.
Every swim was identical. I.e identical perceived efficiency and the numbers below had almost 0 variability between them (with the exception of the luno)

Rocket fin: 8x double kick glide. 38s
X20: 9x double kick glide. 40s
LunocetClassic: 11-12x double kick glide. 50s

Any news on the shipping, me and some other customers feel like left out in the cold when it comes to news on the long wait.

Do you mean that the kicks across all fin platforms were given the same perceived effort? Can we assume that in each case a kick cycle represents a fairly uniform quanta of energy expenditure?

One more fin in the picture!

Prepare to be amazed?!?!?!?

Fun 2 find out!

Sitting outside on porch in wet speedo.... Watching for postman...
