I spoke to Ted about this issue and he advises that the issue was investigated and the parts were structurally robust. There have been zero failures in over 80 units of the 2015 Lunocets in use.

That's an interesting commentary on the "6 lunocets per day" that followed the several months standing "3 lunocets per day" production claim several months ago... Sounds like slightly better than 12 units PER MONTH or 0.4 units per day to me...

That was his production capacity and some days he was making 5-6. He isn't always making Lunocets. Cycling components also make up a large portion of his business.

Both sides of the business are very slow early in the calendar year (cyclical - no pun intended) and I think that this has allowed him time to get caught up on orders and improve production efficiencies.

So much so, that prices were recently able to be reduced.

He's sold more than that in terms of '14 classics and pros as well.

All good I just meant ,let everyone give ted one last chance,a month of grace,to see if he can finally come good on his promises, and if not, for everyone to come and jump on him.

@Ted. Please don't forget to ship my fin. I just checked and i am still stuck with pre-shipment status on USPS. I am Tullio by the way.

Cheers

One week ago Ted sent me a tracking and even posted a picture of the package he wanted to send - see above dated the 19th (by the way ignoring any data privacy). Now US Postal STILL shows "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS" as of today - so we can clearly say this was another fake. Apparently Ted made an effort to fake a parcel but never made en effort to put anything INTO it or send it off.

Oh, or maybe USPS made a mistake again ? Curious to learn about the next "explanation" ...

I'd slow down there a bit. USPS is NOT known for updating their shipment status promptly. I've had parcels marked as just having been picked up arrive at my door. I'd give it a full 10 days.

Extraordinarily!!!!! kind of Fondueset, an Orca tester/evaluator to drop by and post something calming and conciliatory for Malte offering encouragement to sooth his long delayed frustration.

Says something very nice about Fondue's character!

Perhaps healing is at hand!

If Ted can confirm that he sent out that fin to Malte, then it is USPS that is being inconsistent. However, Malte has a valid point, which is that pre-shipment status doesn't really mean much considering his year long wait, and we know that there have been problems in some cases with these pre-shipment notices.

As I've said in another post, that's not my experience. Last time I got a pre-shipment notice from Ted, I got my fin two weeks later.

This time USPS has been updating shipment status regularly. I signed up for automatic notifications and got e-mails every time the package Ted sent to me made a move through the system. I know that my Lunocet is now in the city where I live, but it hasn't gone out for delivery for some reason. It's probably sitting on the desk of some bewildered customs official trying to figure out what the hell this thing is .

When you sign up for USPS status updates it takes about 4 hours before you get the first one. Malte, you should try this. If it's still in pre-shipment mode, then get informed. Try Ted or Jeff Watson at sales@ultimateswimfin.com, to take some of the guessing out of the equation.

Guys, just for clarity: I'm not interested in soothing comments or "helpful" hints. I just want to warn people to order from Ted. If you have too much money, give it to charity, it's better invested there.

Over the last year since I ordered and paid the fin, I received at least 11 times a email from him saying my fin will be out in the next days. And if I then asked (typically 1-2 weeks later) if it's out now, the same info came - „Definitely! I am trying to get it out this week!“
(I counted, if you don't believe it, give me your email address and I'm happy to share all email exchange between Ted and myself so you can see I'm not making this up. And of course he did not actively send mails - I received only replies if I asked multiple times).
Even if I would ever receive a fin - this is no way to do business.

So long story short: I have received stuff from USPS before; I have never received anything from Ted - now here's a question for you: whom would YOU trust ???

Oh, and another question: if USPS really is the issue (assuming ...) - then why do people not get refunds from Ted if they ask for it ? Are refunds also USPS' fault ?

Walking in the brush by the river one day.... Came across a cat hopelessly ensnared in a tangle of barbed wire through no fault of his own..... Thought he'd appreciate a little empathetic assist... NO!

You'd think I'd learn! Should have kept my hands out of that one too!

On the lighter side:

Did you see this photo of an accomplished free diver......
Thinking....?... What is wrong with his dog ¿?¿?

Agreed.

Very similar to my experience. I did get the odd e-mail from Ted, out-of-the-blue, telling me mine was being worked on... then nothing for months.

this is no way to do business.

Absolutely it's not!

I believe that it is possible to abuse pre-shipment notifications and use them as a stalling tactic where by you can imply that something has been posted, to keep a customer on the hook, whilst you deal with what ever 'delays' have gotten in your way of actually posting something and then when you do get it in the post, ta-da, look - the tracking suddenly comes alive. If it never gets posted then, well, for example, you could claim that it got lost in the post... not my fault guv', honest! Who would I believe? On experience, I'd side with USPS.

Oh, and another question: if USPS really is the issue (assuming ...) - then why do people not get refunds from Ted if they ask for it ? Are refunds also USPS' fault ?

After seeing that my pre-shipment notification wasn't going anywhere I asked for my money back and got it, even though I was told it had been posted. Strangely enough, the tracking never did go live and nothing ever turned up in the post, funny that? Draw your own conclusions.
