@Apneaddict - How about an update? I realize it's probably not a fast process, but things have been too quiet. How much progress have you been able to make, and is your impression that there are relatively few folks still without their fins holding up?
Did you get a reply ? Strangely quiet around here

A bit of continued patience will pay dividends at this point. A positive update will be posted early next week.

No. I haven't heard anything.

I did hear about the Lunocet being showcased on the Today show. Not real thrilled about it considering certain persisting circumstances.

Sad, but not surprising ... still a long period of silence and of course nothing sent out. Well, at least no cheap excuses.

So at this point I have received a few replies privately, and then it's gone silent again. The report was that my lunocet was shipped out a week ago today. I haven't received any tracking information. Just kind of waiting at this point to see if I get an unannounced lunocet in the mail, or if Jeff needs to explain why Ted Ciamillo didn't follow through.

Took a quick dip in a frigid Lake Michigan this memorial day weekend with my brother (sent out a ripple among the more adventurous beach-locked sun-bathers that was funny to watch--trend-setters!), and just went for my first swim in a small local lake today. Gonna be really feeling the lack of a fin now. Up to this point it would have been motivation to get a wetsuit and start into the water earlier than usual... now I'm seriously considering getting myself something real to take advantage of the season. To think that last year was supposed to be the year I finally took the plunge on my first real monofin! Son of a...

Hey guys,

do you know how to cancel an order in paypal? I tried to follow the paypal help steps, but with no success, there's just no option to "cancel" next to my order.

Btw, I cannot recommend buying Lunocet, as you probably heard, it just takes too long to receive one, despite the fact that you get reassured number of times that there is one in stock and will be send very soon.
Mine's probably traveling all around the world trying to find me I guess. Unfortunately I cannot wait for another half of the year for it, so I cancelled my order again (3th time) and this time for good.

And have not heard from Ted ever since....

Personally I have nothing against him, but I was forced to buy my fin from someone else, couldn't waste more time anymore. I hope the service in the future will get better and maybe one day I'll buy one.

Have a good day guys...

M.

That's a damned shame, been there myself and know how you're feeling.

I don't think you'll have much luck if you're contacting Ted directly. The people to contact are either Jeff Watson at Ultimate Swim Fin, sales@ultimateswimfin.com or @Apneaddict

Hi @onemanarmyxx7 I think you should be able to be reibursed by PayPal like I did (I believe this works within 180 days past purchase). My situation was 3 months with pre-shipment info and pile of emails from Ted with broken promises. I made a claim on PayPal.com explaining the following situation.
1) explaining that the pre-shipment status on USPS is a now well known trick that Ted uses to buy time but it is not a proof of shipment
2) no real proof of shipment was ever sent
3) Ted has a well known record of fraud bahaviour (here I posted the link to this very same forum thread as evidence in my favour)
4) explain how many times Ted broke his promises and for how long he kept postponing the shipment

This for me was enough to get reinbursed from PayPal in a couple of weeks. I am sure that by now they are well aware of Ted's way of doing business. It is probably not a coincidence that his PayPal account has been blocked.

Regarding to Philip's suggestion you can try and if it works would ultimately be the best solution for everyone. However, Jeff Watson so far has not provided any hard evidence that things changed for the better and that fins are effectively being shipped. I am still very skeptic about ultimateswimfin.com...

Gook luck and keep us posted!

Hi everyone,

I'm another victim of Teddy fraudulent practices.

He has my order for more than a year, and has managed to string me along with stories of returned packages, broken machines, missing parts, and every other kind of excuse known to man.

Now all is silent.

When someone accepts $500 and then neither delivers the goods nor acknowledges request for reimbursement I think that's the definition of theft.

Personally I will be reporting Ted to the authorities. I noticed that the FBI arrested the FIFA 14 because they were involved in cross-border criminal activity using dollars. Perhaps that's the right avenue for me too. God knows that nothing else has any effect.

It seems odd to say I've 'Liked' this post because it is quite clearly not a thing that one likes to read - that there being another disgruntled customer looking for redress that has come to light because their situation, like so many others, has dragged on way beyond the point of being unacceptable.

The brief flourish of activity a while back that promised progress does not seem, on balance, to have proved any more rewarding than any of Ted's own promises - happy to be proved wrong. Seeing as Ted is at the route of all of this it's highly likely that the middle-men are just as likely to be suffering the same problems as the customers did who dealt with him directly. Once again, happy to be proved wrong.

I, and others, tried to move things along by co-ordinated efforts through this forum, but that proved largely in effective. Now it would seem that enraged customers are finally, and it is a final step, gravitating towards the legal system in order that they might get some satisfaction.

On behalf of many, I'm sure, I'm looking for some feedback from all sides on this.

If Ludovic Halévy had ordered a Lunocet product I'm not sure the phrase "No news is good news" would have come so readily to his mind!

Well, folks, I'm not too thrilled with the lack of information being put out by Jeff (@Apneaddict ). I'd have to say I don't totally agree with his approach. On the other hand after getting in touch with him and waiting about a month I do now have my Lunocet 2015 Pro. Still being a little reserved about it until I see less negatives and more positives coming out, and that's one of the reasons you haven't seen an announcement or a review from me yet. I'm continuing to follow all of this, and expecting/hoping to be able to feel more comfortable putting "internet weight" behind this product in the future. Also I'm trying to get hold of a 47 Wide shoe. Apparently only little people ride bikes, for the greater part... :p As an aside, I've happened upon a brand called "Specialized", and tried a 47 in their "Expert Road" model... looks to be an amazing shoe for this application, IMO, providing the BOA fasteners would hold up. This particular model is incredibly stream-line, and the bolt pattern fits the Lunocet!

Anyway, I'll say it again. Anyone still waiting on a fin needs to get in touch with Jeff @Apneaddict Watson from ultimateswimfin.com. @alastair , @onemanarmyxx7 , et al, you might want to read back a few pages on this forum topic in order to get a good grasp on the dynamic of the Lunocet situation at this point. Basically, as I understand it, Ted is doing production and shipping and little else. UltimateSwimFin.com, as a separate enterprise, is handling not only all new sales and fulfillment (fins are shipped directly from Ted) for the Lunocet, but also working to clean up old, unfulfilled orders at the same time. Please get in contact with Jeff, give him a chance to pull some strings and work your order into fulfillment with Ted, and keep us updated on here.

Thanks for the update @Ichthys and I'm pleased to hear progress :)
With regard to the shoes, yes the I've looked at the shoe you mentioned and, as you say, it's very streamlined and minimalist. Probably quick to dry out too. I look forward to hearing about your experiences with the Boa tensioning system.
