Hey Lenny,

makes sense if You're about spearing anyway. If the spearfishing part is optional, You might want to ask Papa Smurf for an SA forum in the freediving section. ;)

hey guys! hope everyone had a great holiday! i got a fair amount of diving in...was really good....best spot dived these holidays was pringle bay!

Hey all, how was everybodys holiday?
I must admit I didnt get any diving in, due to bad water conditions while we were in strand... and having quite a lot that needed to get done the rest of the time
Whend you go to Pringle mate?
O and did anybody start a new thread for us yet? If not Ill do it now

Howzit all! Anyone got an update on that ban?

Hope all have been having great diving, and I reckon 2008 is gonna be a cracker!

Got a couple of dives in at melkbos, grotto, elands, neptunes dairy, knysna, and pringle...
was there on Friday last week...water was crystal clean! jumped in, within the first 5 seconds i saw a cracker, then went out abit deeper and saw some small hotties and decided to move into the shallows again....shot 1 huge gully fish, and called it a day...
friends went back there on saturday and sunday...they said the viz was still crystal, saw a huge cracker and shot some hotties...

hiya all!
happy 2008!
lenny, about the thread move idea... i'm not a speafisherman at all, just a freediver,
here in cape town, and i really like that you guys are here in this section... :)
see, there's not much "pure" ;) freediving communication happening on DB,
so I kinda like it that our CT thread is very active and all... but it's purely up to you I guess...
but I'll wave a sad watery goodbye if you go...

Hey has anybody done any dives rescently.

Me, just been trying my hand at underwater rugby and hockey. But I'm getting tired of clorine. Somebody please tell me you're going diving!

One of the rugby guys told me about the second most insignificant town in South Africa (1st being tweebuffelsmeteenskootmorsdoodgeskiedfontein.) It's called hondekipbaai, (heard of it?...not likely) This little place is on the west coast some where inbetween the border and the furthest northen town I know. kinda like you get to springbok and then you drive all day and a bit more to the sea and then you blink for a second and realize you just road through hondeklipbaai. Aparently here you can catch crayfish monsters the size legends are made of. This particular guy only really crayfishes so he did not give me any info about fish. But I reckon if it so out in the middle of no where there must be some nice fishies. Besides that it is completely free to camp, simply because there is no campsite and secondly there is nobody to complain about you camping and braaing on the beach. Call me weird, but I think it would be quite an adventure to trek out to probally the most remote and uncivilized part of the country. Just another one of my weird ideas.

talking about weird diving ideas, hey DB when are we going treasure huntin? today off the harbour would of been perfect! nice and flat, clear, very little boat activity.

Hey Reese, dem big hotties are they all sitting in your freezer? if not we should make a mission for hottie hunt.

Anyways,
This is Lenny on channel Bored signing off.

Ive heard of Hondeklipbaai, all the people from springbok and surrounds go there. There mite be fish but not really that I have heard about, but then again what does desert inhabitants really know about fish rite. My wifes family actually runs the hotel in Springbok so we can stay over there for a nite or two aswell :friday.
Hey Lenny hows things lookin at the pool, say hi to the guys for me.
Not much diving done lately due to the babe arriving soon, soooo many things to do sooo little time.

Awsum, how long still to go. Do you know if it is a boy or a girl?

Hotel in Springbok! that is so cool! Dude the furthest in that direction I've ever been is Upington and along the coast the furthest north iv'e been is langebaan. So I'm keen for the experience. All I know about fish is that Southwest Africa (Namibia) is paradise according to the shore anglers.

Pool's quite fun, actually quite alot of people. about 30 rugby players, and 16 hockey players every practice! There is one oke called 'Okie', that guy is a machine - dives to the bottom of the 5m pool and sits there for over 4 minutes!

Cool stuff I actually miss those sessions.
I know what you mean about the angling, one guy caught a 13 kg steenbras there this dec. Thing about the water is its sh#t cold and very sandy in most places, but then again not many divers there I know about and from sat pics there are some places with nice looking reef but you mite need a boat.
Its a boy and were expecting him end of Jan so thats why Ive been kinda off the diving lately working on the room and such, but Ill be back :martial

Well I need a new suit anyway, a two piece 5mm should keep me plenty warm. I'm keen to give it a try even if we just catch kreef and camp it'll still be fun.

Congrats on the little one dude! i didnt even know!!!! So u soon to be a daddy hey, thats lank cool!
Hoping to get a dive in this weekend somewhere...
Other Greg's just left for dubai for 3 months for work...Michael caught a 4kg kreef behind the island at big bay, but its a no-take zone, so he had to release it, but damn! was the size of the kreef at the aquarium!

Could a sworn I told ya all.
Damn itll be kinda difficult to describe a 4kg kreef as a stomack, perhaps a hunch maybe rofl

maybe u did....but my memory isnt what it used to be!!!
if i caught it i would have swam from bigbay to melkbos, just so i could take it out! LOL

That's what I was gonna say! for a 4kilo I would swim melkbos! Or even just come out, and hope nobody saw you.(like at seapoint)rofl It would be worth the fine!
I reckon if you grabbed 4kilo kreef wrong he'd take some of your fingers off!rofl

What where you guys doing diving there anyways? Fish?
