Don't worry, I am sure that we can arrange suitable guidance where needed. Also a few attendees might like a paddle around the bays with family members.

Er, no actually - am I going to regret that ?
I hear there may be a Volkswagen van heading South with a bit of space on its roof for the ferry ;-)

Yeah a BIT.....but I don't want it looking like an Indian Bus!!! :-D

I'm taking one of mine but if Edin wants one, the other, but suspect I could get 3 on it?

I think it depends on the size of the adventure that you're hoping for :) . you have your yak for trips at home so like you say, there's lots of shoreline here worth exploring without a yak, so may not warrant the hassle of bringing it, BUT, there's some good tides and reefs that you wont want to get too near without a yak. imo the best diving is close to the tides. there are options for shore based down-tide drifts with not too long walks back, but probably the best ones would need a kayak trip.
6 of one and a half dozen of the other...

Lana has entered the infant group of the comp. at 3.5 weeks old she's training hard. Still having difficulty loading the gun herself but she'll be ok by August I reckon.

All,

Looking at coming over with my Old man (Fishfox), does anyone have 2 x spare seats in a vehicle to split the costs down?

We would be looking at a Friday - Sunday/Monday if at all possible...

If not thinking of flying and maybe taking someone up on the offer of taking our kit over, need to keep costs down due to a wedding that I'm saving up for and have been limited by the missus - this is a pre-requisite for letting me go!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

if it helps at all then im sure we can find some weights for you - save you bringing them if you fly...

I'm sure I'll have some space in my truck for gear but the seats are full im afraid. I'm going across for 2 weeks from the 29th so may not be much use for you but if it will work you can meet us somewhere and chuck your gear onboard.

Just get on the boat boat as a foot passenger, someone will pick you up in Guernsey.

Thanks for offers of taking our heavy Spearo kit, might take you up on that Grant!

Okay so its looking very cheap £60 for the two of us as foot passengers, any recommended camping areas with basic facilities & a shower unit close to the area of the comp's/socials?

Are taxi's expensive on the Island?

Sorry for all the questions - getting a little excited now! :friday

I think most of the camp sites have been discussed earlier in the thread, taxis are expensive but, buses are £1 a trip anywhere on the island.

Sounds good to me then, just need Fishfox (my oldman) to book the leave now - then you can question his choice of username! Lol

Ditto in the van. No seats but space for gear and camping too so can get it to campsite for anyone who wants to go foot passenger or fly.

Can't remember if I posted it before...don't take the wrong way as I'm happy to help, but I'll only take gear boxed (the sort of plastic tidy things you get form ikea and the likes). Sorry for any inconvenience but a few folks gear loose in the back of a van can very quickly become a flippin nightmare!! not to mention smelly and toxic (rusty doom!) to a van if bags are leaking pishy salty water and/or sand from every orifice! :yack :D

I think there was enough folk in similar places last year to share things like taxis and lifts without too much bother once on the island? :friday

Last year we stayed here HOME - they were good and still are the cheapest camping in Guernsey. We'll be staying there again this year...

...unless anyone wants to put us up in their garden *hint hint, nudge nudge*
