Well in boys!!!! Glad u had a good 1. Felt awful about bailing but 3hours of surching for viz and the facts of not gettin any sleep because of little boys 3rd birthday started to kick in and i chose the sleep. Couldnt deal with all the kids on a birthday without sleep. Hats off to u on that 1 also lee.

Hello Dorset Hunters,
I'd like to let you know - there is very good vis in Worbarrow Bay, 5 to 6m and over 10m outside the bay. BAD NEWS - no decent fish and only 10deg. temperature of the water.

Going out this afternoon (scuba) on lulworth banks to do a couple of scallop drifts, if the vis is any good, may be looking at getting out tomorrow to fish (spear) the slack on the shambles then maybe some drifts on the sheltered side of Portland 6.5M rib with a 200hp on the back so could take 6+ gear comfortably. Usually do a 2 in the water system. May be a couple of spaces depending on availability of the usuals. Anyone interested?

Sounds good. Hope you had a successful dive/spear...

Hi Paul
Was out fishing with a rod from my dinghy yesterday from weighmouth to warbarrow so nearly bumped into you. Vis looked great all the way except a patch of milkyness east of durdle door. Bumped into couple of spearos in durdle door with only a mullet to show but did see a dolphin by the north entrance of Portland harbour. Water still too cold!
Nick

Nice I take it the path is open down there again or did you go by boat?

I got there by foot. There was a sign that path was closed but me and my friend ignored it. It appeared a very bad idea to keep walking - a few times we got stuck with mud up to knees! Later we were awarded with amusing visibility and were happy until the moment we had to climb and crawl back uphill.:head

Just in for first time this year for an afternoon dive ! Jumped in at Ferrybridge :( viz 1 metre, long walk over to Chesil to have a look someone must have added some GRAVY granules could not see end of gun :( viz about 1 metre full of bloom, must have been some of the worst viz I have ever dived . Dived down and moved out deeper but viz was even worse. hope its not everywhere was planning allot of spearing this weekend. Weekend seemed so good all the scuba guys were saying it was 6 - - 10 metres . Anyway did not see a single fish

Went in at Lyme Regis, Eype, West Bay, Freshwater, and Burton Bradstock last night. All were under 1m viz (due to the bloom). Viz opened up to around 1.5 at times, saw a few bass but they saw me before I saw them due to the terrible visibility. Hope this bloom passes quickly!

Gutted mate. we finally get calm conditions,,,,,then the bloom!

Thats just not fair! The wife is away from Thursday evening til the following Tuesday so I had some mammoth dive sessions planned and then I get this news......still, will have to make the most of the free weekend and explore the area (or head down to Cornwall) to find some vis. I also just got the new gopro black as an early birthday present from the wife so gagging to get out and use it!

We've got some cracking viz down this way at the moment. I'm out lobstering tomorrow morning, making the most of it.
It's mostly Northerly winds for the next few days, so it should stay pretty clear.
