You guys are often useing the word 'flaties' now is this a general term for plaice, sole, turbot, brill, flounder, dab, topknot or is that a locale term for a specific flatfish?
General term mate.
OK cool but that is a bit like saying I caught a couple of round fish last night!
Its just that I am interested to know what type of flatfish you catch in the same way as I like to know what sort of round fish you catch!![]()
For me a flatty is usually a flounder/plaice/dab that I didn't spear so didn't actually identify as in "there were some flatties but I left them to grow", or a flatty can be a fish that should have been there but wasn't as in "spent some time checking the sand for flatties"
