Is it normal to feel like I need to be in the water with my spear gun all the time ?
depends on your dive style...day dives will see vast shoals of silvers, whereas nights can be barron with just solo or pairs of fish.
but genrally speaking although less fish; they're shallower than in the day and thus allowing you to cover more ground (I'm talking 4 mile swims) if you're prepared to do a 4-6 hour swimathon, then you will get more fish. but if you're after a 2 hour dive with a few fish on the stringer then you're better off in he day.

I've only ever dived Chesil briefly. Went out at Chesil cove, looking for the wreck but it was barren as hell. Didn't find it.
Any viz boys ? Not coming over to your neck of the woods quite yet, but thinking down the coast a bit towards seaton. Should be sheltered from the slight westerly but can't find a decent web cam. Anyone local can give me an update, appreciate it
