Ireland Spearing 2013

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
It could be me alright as I was down that way early Thursday morning.

I was talking to a guy I dive with now and again and he was out in a spot near there a couple of weeks ago, a guy in a rib saw he was spearfishing and started to zigzag in front of him. Granted it was'nt directly in front but close enough.

People start pulling tricks like that then it's only a matter of time before there's an accident.

Probably him all right, he sometimes takes a small sib from guileen pluggin for bass.

Amazing how naïve some folk can be eh!

Niave is one way of looking at it. The guy in question used to spear himself around the same places years ago. He is now is a fishing journalist for an irish fishing magazine and on a public forum he is talking about running over spearfishermen in his warrior 165???

How far offshore are they Rob ??? A boat angler told me recently that its not that far depending on time of year but I dont really know anything bout them.

Still trying to find time to put up a full report from Cork and Kerry but here's a few pics till I find time.

Is that a cannabis plant leaf half way up the left hand side of the last pic!
I spent ages trying to spot something!

Not that I would know but I don't think so then again I suppose Cape Clear would be a nice quiet spot to grow alrite.Zoom in on the centre of the pic I've spent 10 years trying to spot one of these guys. Come on who's gonna name it first :t:t:t:t.

It looks like a newt to me.

Your close Derek , it's actually the Common(my arse) Irish Lizard . Most people don't even know it exists but it does its Irelands only reptile. I swear to God I have been looking for one of these for years and found it by complete accident. I was dancing round the campsite in Cape Clear .

Nice one, well done Neal :)

Usually the reports follow the spanish tuna fishermen. Their locations are viewable online.
Its usually about 45 miles, but I've heard that this year they are only 20 miles offshore.

I buying a small fast boat in a few days, unfortunately it wont go that far :(

Seems they do not like me posting on the angling forum, removed two of my posts.... typical eh

Jesus. He's a good friend of my dad. Spoke to him plenty about spearfishing. Sounds like he doesn't like anything but rods.
What boat u getting rob?

Well done on a good thread you Irish boys! Just had a good read and catchup seeing as it's 'just over Celtic' from me.....Some of the fish you lot are nailing make for a bit of salivation.
Pity about that arb on the charter boat ruining the mood but stuff him, screenshot the comments and if anything happens in the future serious enough...sure it will be sorted:duh
Good hunting.......:wave
