Sussex Spearing 2012

It's a good choice, I've had the same gun for a couple of years and it has speared many fish. I think the 75 is a versatile length of gun which is well suited to most uk waters.

Hope it brings you some luck!

Thank you Eddy, are there any pointer you can give me on taking care of it or is it pretty straight forwards?

now that its getting warmer, hopefully we can set up a spearfishing trip.

Cheers,
Guy

Let us know what the viz is like - I've never had over 2m there, but could have just been bad luck?

Hmm there's biggish tides at the moment. I'm guessing the vis will be rubbish. Probably a little late to say that now...

Let us know how you get on.

I see picture from newhaven..look good with all of this rock. How will be viz of water at this moment and how is usually?

From my experience usually the water loos like pea soup. I have (on rare occasion) seen it 3-4m vis but only whilst line fishing.

sorry guys, you all missed out!! haha
got in the water spot on 2 oclock, looked like pea soup so i nearly didnt bother, started about 150meters right of the arm as there was3 or 4 rod guys casting off the beach. Swam out parallel with the arm until i got level with the big red grate on it. Vis was pretty poor to be honest. maybe 1 meter on the bottom. I just messed around trying to improve bottom time as i swam to the end of the arm. As i got towards the arm and above the big concrete rocks the vis improved dramatically, vis was a good 4 meters in places, averaged at 3 meters at least. below 8.5 meters deep it was still very silty, but in the top 6 meters it was fine.
saw a few undersize bass, had a fight with a decent size lobster, and plenty of codling and a few wrasse to admire.
all in, was definatly worth it.

So... who won the fight? Are you eating lobby tonight or is he eating part of your hand that he managed to get in some little hide-away?

thanks but i'm really confuse. Share some place where water is with good viz and is near to Bognor please ;)

It was about 2m under the lifeboat slip lastnight. No decent sized fish, lots of little fry, so hopefully that will bring the bigger ones in soon. Tides are very high at the mo, so thats probably reducing vis a lot

What?!?!, with just the one hand left?!?!?! Wow, you're braver than me! :D

nothing to do with braveness, its personal now, revenge is a dish served best with a thermidore sauce!!
