Scott,

I Recommend these mini boards mate:

Imersion - Inflatable mini board - OThree Shop

I've got a dive hunter too, but I much prefer this mini-board.

Personal preference. It's up to you.

Gaz.
.

Cheers Gaz, I saw them when I went a visited O three during the BSA comp & I almost got one then. Kicking myself for not doing it.

I did briefly look at it, has the gun storage, some pockets, I will probably attached some shoulder straps to it for those long walks down & strap the fins to it as well. Yellow being a good colour........... red just isn't me. Plus it has a proper Alpha flag, you know at least 1m high.

Sod it, just ordered one.

Cheers

Scott

As the wind dropped off (briefly) last night I popped down to Durlston for a quick hour.
Vis was not great (as expected) but at least I was in.

I had one shot at a mullet (missed) and little else was seen.

Right gents,

Not sure what will be available tomorrow evening, but there seems to be the ususal westerlies, but gusting to 22 - 25 knots, HW at about 7 ish.

So with the past week or so crap weather will there be any chance of getting out tomorrow, with potentially the crap vis?

I suppose we have the usual spots,Durlston, Newtons, anywhere else?

I'm afraid we are not spoilt for choice, for a club dive, in these conditions.

The Dulstone area is likely to be your best option (and, considering that most places will be a bit of a gamble in this weather, not so much of a blow if we are met with disappointing conditions!).

I'm also deperate to get out, as i havn't been out for about 3 weeks now.

If you fancy getting out sometime, give me a bell, I can't promise anything as my weekends will be pretty much occupied with the family, unless I am out on good beaviour or the in laws are down.

I am over in Wimborne & it looks like you are in Bridport so not really ideal for meeting up, but I have to travel about an hour to get to Durlston or the Weymouth area anyway.

May see you tomorrow then, if it's on.

I was hoping to come along tomorrow as I want to meet some other local guys (only moved to the area a couple of months ago), but I can't make it. This is the last week of the summer holidays, back to school (AKA work) next week, so from now on I can only make evenings. Are the club dives usually in the evening or the daytime? If they are in the evening then I will try to come down one Tuesday soon...
Tom.

Tom.

Club dive is on Tuesday evenings, people start to turn up from 5.30 onwards & normally in the water for about 2 -3 hours.

So if it is on, someone will post where & we will all meet up. Sometimes there will be about 3 or 4, but I think the most I have seen is about 8.

May see you tomorrow........... if it is on.

I am keen to go providing I finish work early enough,I am quite desperate too so happy to try Durslton or Swanage.
Hopefully see you tomorrow.

CLUB DIVE CANCELLED TONIGHT!!!!!

Looks as though we were a bit premature in declaring the club dive this evening as being 'on'.

Just for clarification, we were planning to hold the club dive at The Buckshore tonight. This is the same area we held it a couple of weeks ago, between the old Swanage Pier and Peveril Point, right next to Durlstone Bay. This is one of the few spots in our area that can hold viz when the conditions are as they have been over the last few days.

However, a friend of mine was in that area this morning so I asked him to check out the viz for me - he reported back that it was BROWN!

In light of this, we have decided to cancel the official club dive this evening, so that people do not come from all over the South West to be greeted by a large bowl of pea soup.

Having said all that, there is still a chance that a tide change this evening might sweep a bit of clean water into this little area (as it sometimes does). So, although there is no official club dive, if individuals want to go down to the Durlstone/Buckshore area, you might just find some viz this evening (although you will have to make personal arragements amongst yourselves to hook up with buddies). Try to stay well clear of the point, at Peveril Point, as the tide can run strong here and you might find yourself taking a bit of a journey up or down The English Channel. Another spot in the area that might be worth a try is the south west corner of Durlstone Bay, as this can sometimes hold it's viz a little better than the rest of the Bay.

It's up to you. Personally I'm in 2 minds about it, and will probably make my decision right at the last minute.

Good luck if you decide to go, and fingers crossed that the weather starts to improve soon, so that we can hold some decent club dives in some decent conditions.

Gaz.

Hi Guys,

I went down at Buckshore/Peveril last night (fishing) and can confirm that it was pretty grim.

I shall give it a miss tonight and hope to go out another evening this week.

Thanks a lot Kev for your good reccomandation.Yeah I was surprised to see 2.45 on my watch even becouse the dive before I did 2.31 and I improved my personal best for 3 sec. Another think is that I didnt feel the need to breath and I went up just becouse I thought that it was enough for that dive. I think improving it depende on how many time you get into the water.

Hey I just found this, can you please explain me what does it mean? Anyway it's so funny :)

Defo, also I find that if the viz is good my times are better, i think its just because I relax more.
Thats some good diving tony keep it up:friday

Not sure that I'm going to be able to make the club dive tonight (I'm due to go away again soon, and I've got a fair bit on my plate to square away before I go).

I'll keep an eye out for the text, and then if I can make it I will.

Looks like a couple of people have posted that they found some good conditions along the coast recently, so if they want to share that info for a club dive all well and good. If not, someone else will have to make the call (bit unfair for me to do it if I'm not gonna be there, and Paul Smith is away too).

Good luck tonight fellas,

Gaz.
