I been in the water yesterday the weather was promising a good NW winds so I thought that the visibility in Durlstone could be great but it wasnt has I expected,it was a bad but fishable 3 metres and I had 2 nice bass. Now what i want to ask to the experts or to someone that has got a better knowledge (maybe Paul or Gas?)Why it was bad visibility if the winds where NW? There is any other reason that something else could effect it? Cheers.
To Tunny: did you try your wetsuit mate? Is the repair strong enought?

It would have been the big winds the day before, which churned everything up, perhaps compounded by one of the biggest tides of the year racing through (although hopefully those same tides will now serve to wash some clean water in sooner than it would have otherwise taken without them).

Winds are predicted to stay northerly for the next week, so should help to clear things up around here fairly soon.

But, then again, I could be wrong about all that.

It wasn't about that mate. I was just trying to be a bit more specific so that people in the wider public didn't think that we were fishing under the pier - because that tends to upset the bubble-blowers and causes friction.

We all know that SCUBA divers 'own' and have sole rights to the pier, and that these rights can be traced all the way back to the Magna Carta. And we know this because that little angry bloke who comes around in his boat, telling spearfisherman to clear off, says so.

And now it looks as though I've ended up drawing attention to it, rather than diverting it away - oh well. :)

I was only messing with you mate, same as Paul...

Tunny,

You might only have been messing, but Paul was serious - he hates me!

Hi Mr X,you are right maybe the double rubber band is a bit too much but sometimes I try to shoot a fish far away specially when the water is clear and the fishes are a bit suspicious and please dont tell me about the REEL :), I never used it yet and dreaming about that huge fish that is taking me surfing in the middle of the sea is now and will be only a dream. Anyway the cannon is a omer cayman 90,I simply love it very accurate too becouse if I miss a fish sometimes is always my fold:head. Cheers :friday.

Hi Gaz thanks a lot to clear up my doubts so now lets wait a bit it can only get better now(I hope). Anyone could reccomend me the strongest and powerful rubber bands for my speargun?I read somewhere that the amber rubber bands are better than the black one did you ever ear about that guys? I also was thinking that the rob allen are good the only think that I dont like is the blue I mean I like the blue but if you match it with the black is horrible (black and blue is the color of Inter Milan football club :yack)but for the love of spearfishing I can close one eye.Hey Paul how much did you pay for your 50cm?

Any ideas for tomorrow? - it's looking like bloody Westerlies again which can only mean one of a few spots...

Unless Christchurch is looking good?

Cheers

Ryan

Tony, I gotta know your aftershave, because virtually everywhere you go, you come back with a fish.

Bad viz wrong time & tide.........

Sounds all right to me.........

I'll wait out on the decision on where to dive.
