When we decide where we are going can you say where to meet, as in which road or a place to park. I am looking on the sat views & nothing is really obvious. I can see a road off barrack road that looks like there is parking.

Been in Ringstead today and viz was not good ,very patchy though, then rained quite a lot and was pretty grey,I saw 1 mackarel (I said goodbyeeeee) and 2 small basses and at the end when I was just reaching the beach there was there a good size bass ,perhaps 2kg(in 1 meter deapth) .......and guess what.......................................... I did not get that one either.
Anyway it was a very good exercise for me.
The idea of Newtons cove sounds good to me,I have never been there ,exciting!,no idea where to park.
I found the exact location in the map though.
Hopefully I ll see you in the clear waters of Weymouth tomrrow

Is it Lulworth first tomorrow or straight to newtons cove?

Cheers
Ash

Newtons Cove is Weymouth side of the wall and Bincleaves is on the inside of the wall, then the Underbarn, then Castle Cove (nice beach shack cafe), then the Castle and then erm I always call it Second Beach (bottom of Old Castle Road) then Castle Cove Sailing Club (it used to be in the Cove years ago) and then Whiteheads and then Ferry bridge..

I thought you were gonna go all the way to America for a minute there John!

In local to Poole today. Plenty of life about, but I only managed a half decent mullet (although I did see a mullet that would have broken the world record).

The wind wasn't doing what wind guru promised it would, so be prepared for that tomorrow at Newton's! (But there's always the pub!) :friday

I'll be there.

I could even check the viz out this morning if I have time as I am up in Dorchester.

Hey Paul,

I sent Broughy a message the other day so he has my number now.
Can someone give me directions from Poole? I can find my way to weymouth, Is it near newtons Road?

Cheers

It's Newton's Road mate. Park in the car park at the junction of Newtons Road and Spring Road, which is close by.

Strong winds from the south this morning, according to wind guru - so looks like everywhere is getting smashed!

Sorry i couldn't make it tonight chaps, but i've been out all day with matt.

Started at 7am, had a quick look at a sketchy spot but the vis was rubbish and there was no fish. then on to an old favorite...........saw about 10 bass in total, the first one was big but he came out of the weed at me from close range and i didnt have a chance. took 2 about 2-3lb's and hit and also hit a much bigger fish only for it to spin itself off:head. saw probably 20 mullet, most in the 4-6lb range but left them to it. Matt took a nice mullet though but didn't see a single bass:confused:

back to the car for clothes, pringles and some of matts homemade spicy rice then on to another close by spot with the kayaks. vis was still a bit rubbish but i still managed to get a 3.5lb'er and then.......i'm sitting on the bottom looking out when i notice a tail on my left, the wrist of the tail is bigger than my wrist. i fire and the line tightens then it turns on me, head the size of a donkey........christ! its the biggest bass i think i've ever shot! truly a beast. as it disappears into the murk i think shall i pull to or swim to...that old question. i don't pull but as i swim after the spear the line suddenly drops......NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tear off number two! gutted! Matt saw no fish!

sleepy now!zzz

Chris, Chris, Chris . . . you didn't miss much last night.

Not going to Lulworth was a good idea though. I stopped in there on the way to Newtons and it was opaque in the cove, with very choppy seas and very little viz outside.

Newton's, on the other hand, had rather good viz (as much as 3 meters in places?). A few mullet taken, and a couple of bass seen, but not a lot else.

Enjoyed the dive though.

I had a really nice day yesterday lovely even if i snapped my omer ice I'm not bothered at all (thanks to paul) lots of fishes seen 2 mullet taken 6 huge spider crab a couple of bass and one almost bited Pauls arse hahahaha! Love and peace. Looking forward for the next.

..... even if i snapped my omer ice I'm not bothered at all (thanks to paul) ..........

WHAT??? Already? you've only had them a couple of weeks!!

on another note, i don't suppose you found my stringer in your car did you? i still can't find it.

or did i leave it in Pauls boat? Its the metal loop type............

ps. was it Pauls fault you snapped the fin?

Hey Chris,
Paul found your stringer in his car yesterday and gave it to me i'll pop around soon and give you back.About the fin I'm not sure if it was my fold and I bended it badly when I just started from the shore, anyway I will replace it with the spare that I've got. Those fins are a nightmare for me.

Had a good dive last night, was good to finally meet up with some guys. Didn't come home with anything but was good to just get in the water.
