By the way, ricky just spread the news of a new world record in DYN by Dave, 248m!!!!!!!:friday

WOW and in an outdoor 30+ degree pool in the heat!!

Awesome work and congrats

Already? I thought he would pass in the evening or even on the second day. Or was it during training? Or just a joke? Can you post more details?

Anyway, if it is true, then congrats Dave!!! :friday:friday:friday

Dave announced 1m, and so was one of the first up. The pool, being Egyptian, was built 18cm short, so after 10 laps Dave was at 248m. A very clean exit: he gave me a 'whatever' look when I told him to hook breath.
Weine and Henning both went 8 laps. I thought I'd give 8 a shot as well, but came up with a samba and did the protocol to a safety diver instead of the judge. Nice to see what life is like around the 200m mark though.

Id' be interested to see how they deal with this... unless there is a newer set of regulations. Will it be WR and will the others enter the ranking?
5.2
Performances can only be recognized as a World and/or National Record and will only enter the AIDA International Ranking, if the event takes place in a pool with a minimum length of 25 meters.

Anyway, respect to Dave! regardless of burocracy... great performance!!!

Some news in from the Brit pack - Dave King 173m, ok...MT Solomons, 99m ok....Georgina Miller, 99m ok. Stuart Bond & Tim Money go tomorrow. I haven't heard news about Liv Philip, so I assume she is yet to compete today.

Well done guys ( and girls )! Keep those cards flashing white!!

Trux - it is significantly cooler in the mornings here so I wanted to make sure I swam first at 9:00. I think the water temp was about 32-33. Later in the day it hits 34-35 and the air temp is stifling.

Todays DYN updates and results???

ps: Congratulations Dave....248 m wow...

Concerning the top ones:
Maldame 153 and Bourchis 194 for the french.
the Greek are all tomorrow

Women: Molchanova 174m , Slovencikova 133

I understand that the official results are delayed becvause of the decision on Dave's WR... so don't blame Ricky....

Dave WR is confirmed... !! in spite of the pool shorter than 25m
GREAT :friday
Congratulations.

The basic logistic of this competition is running SMOOTH.
I believe it should be in the AIDA "budget" to take care of media issues at every WC comp. Free pics and video for NEWS media and pressreleases every day. And this year the pressreleases on Aida website are GOOD. And the organizers are releasing results every day (apart from mishap in the beginning). And we have internet acess. No complaints here (I must admit reluctantly ;-).

And bloggers are nowadays part of "journalism".

Congrats Dave !
Is a pity about the 18cm shorter on every lap, that's barely a handspan for you, well it's still 10 laps :)
Good static too, specially for someone that's hate's statics and never trains them....

No protest accepted... so you can find the official results and the partial classification on the official web site.
