So I guess my waiting from february will be worth because I will recieve the 2015 Lunocet pro instead? Guess it will finally be completed when Ted had the production tuned in and running? Did you others out there who ordered theirs like 6 months ago or more get their 2014 Pro or did Ted keep this as a nice surprise upgrade also? How many do actually have the Lunocet Pro 2014 now?

I have the 2014 Pro; while I love it and it works very well, some of us that received Pro's identified weaknesses and hidden potential. I've been giving this feedback to Ted to help him with further product development, and I'm sure others did as well. This led to Ted troubleshooting/improving/coming up with a much better model. While this is a good thing in the big picture, he's not the kind of guy that will send out a fin if he knows he has a better one just around the corner. Probably a much better engineer than customer service rep, but in the end it works out better for us that way. I spoke with Ted last week and he will be shipping out 2015's very soon. I know people have heard that before-I'd provide dates but I'm not the one doing the shipping. Poseidon, if I understood Ted correctly, you will receive the 2015 fin instead of the 2014 (and that should be quite soon). Having had the 2014 Pro, and knowing what all the upgrades are...this is really a good thing. You will like the 2015 better, and it will hold up better for you. I'm looking forward to one as well!

Pro swimmers we recognize because they write in Deeper Blue include AA, Neurodoc, Noa, Marginatus, Aquathyacine, the girl who trains dolphins, maybe the photographer and swimming models in Hawaii and a few others?

I'm still enjoying my modified 2014. Should be a few of those around too.

I'm surmising many are parked awaiting the spring / peduncle upgrade. I'm experimenting with Doc to enhance his Pro with an exo spring mod. Parts in the mail!! Really! I think that will be an incredible Luno. We should assemble over the phone this weekend.

Sounds like Ted expects the latest advancement will surpass all previous efforts by a noticeable margin AND survive under intense use. I know he is intent on fulfilling the visions of early adopting Luno swimmers some way.... Discounts.... Parts...... Upgrades..... Whatever it takes! His posts say the most about how that may play out.

I think those who have an order in as yet unfulfilled may see some of the first to arrive. I'm on that list. He feels he has the production capacity to catch up fairly quickly once the 2015 Luno meets his critical inspection.

Counting on 2015 Luno to be well received in order to fan the flames ...may be embers we are fanning by now, but it will come back quickly with the dream Luno....

As mentioned just above, I have the Pro... really enjoyed it but the spring gave in and now there's too much play in it and I've stopped using it to wait for the new peduncle part and spring which Ted told me by phone (as he posted here) that would be a free upgrade... thing always take a little more time then anticipated especially while being tweaked...

The way I see it, Ted/his company is not not the average company that sells the tested version that's in full production but a better one is almost if not ready... we see that specially in computers and phone when a model is being sold, the next gen is ready and they're already working on another one to keep the clients buying cycle... Ted, as soon as a better one is in the works, he aims to provide that one to his clients and of course this will introduce delays and waiting...

I think that for the client this is better but we need to realize that the trade off is the wait while things are being tested and setbacks being handled
I kid with the time delays a bit but in the end those now realizing that they waited but will get a newer improved version are probably feeling much better :)

I have ordered a Hydrotouring Lunocent on 31 Mar, and I'm not received it yet. Last time I hear from Ted is 8 May, he told me because the problem with the mold tool, it will take little longer than expected, and will be shipped in a few days.

I understand Ted may have production issues, and it may take as long as it need to ensure the quality. I'm ok with that, but at least I have the rights to know what's going on. If I have to wait for another year, please not say "a few days".

I've been read from this post Ted are working on the 2015 Lunocet Pro upgrade, I'm wandering what's the effect will be on Lunocent 2014 - the non pro mode. Will it be upgrade too?

Welcome Rustcoin always good to see the fresh names appearing.

I just returned from morning swim with my 2014. It worked great as usual. You can see what I've done with it in previous posts. It has had lots of use. I do think any of the Pro upgrades would be applicable. I don't know how Ted plans to work with the 2014 owners. I'd guess a purchasable upgrade.

I chose to do the pre order discount Ted is offering to leap ahead to the 2015 model. I'll certainly post in here when it arrives. I know he remains immersed in its creation. I haven't spoken to him for about a week not wanting to be a distraction.

I'm guessing the machine part has arrived and everything is moving forward. This is such an important time for the project. Want to be an encouragement but it all lands on Ted's shoulders.

I ordered in mid April (only three months of patience) but nothing Lunocet has graced my doorstep yet. This thread has been rather quiet this month, does anyone have any news?

My impression, from speaking with Ted, is that the "classic" version with the smaller flukes will remain as a stand-alone product as it works well as-is and does not suffer from the spring damage that happens with the Pro flukes on the same peduncle/spring. I've spoken to Ted twice in the last three weeks, and have posted updates here with the most recent info I have. I will continue to do so! Last time he was doing a final tuning to the fluke dimensions and polishing of the molds then was going into production/shipping mode. That was last week!

Like mr. Fennell, I have been waiting for three months.
Although it is frustrating to be sure. I am more than happy to wait with the promise of getting the sleek new model. I wouldn't be satisfied with the old pro, now that I have heard how 'great' this 2015 model is going to be.
Carry on Ted, take your time and make sure you make it perfect. Just don't take too long. Much appreciated.
Holding my breath for this 'amazing' 2015 can only be good for apnea training. I can feel a world record static coming, likely before my Lunocet.

I have the Lunocet Pro 2014 on the Classic spring. What do I need to modify to use this combination perfectly? Do I have to read the full thread of 55 pages? Could someone please summarize the needed steps? What are the differences to the pro 2015 model?

That combo worked fine for me.

It's just that a batch of "softer / more mellow" springs went out to a few ppl which caused home elongation and resulted in free play / slop.

See photos, my 2014 Luno (classic).
Last month, swimming in the lagoon in Okinawa, tensioner pins of the white plastic were dropped out.
Two were lost among three, and it remained only one, and I returned to the shore.

Rubber spring was broken.

I bought bolt and nut. (W3/8, 50mm length)
Is it OK?

I think your experience is typical. The springs need augmentation. The previous pages show some of our temporary fixes as individuals. Temporary has become a more extended time than anticipated.

The external or exo spring concept (just a rubber reinforcing disc cut from a tire sidewall and held in place by zip ties) is very strong and dependable. It will work fine for a long time even with a spring which has failed as you picture. It is applicable to Classic or Pro flukes. Performance is similar to a brand new spring only it lasts. Your Luno will be dependable for a hundred swims or more with this modification.

I'm hoping a manufactured solution is very very close but it has been elusive.

Thanks Chipswim. I understand Necessity of additional rubber spring disc at last.
I consider it seriously.

You said "typical" ...
If I did not notice by underwater far from the shore, it was pretty dangerous.

Yes! I was concerned about that. Glad you handled it well!

Keep believing we'll get there. There are some spectacular lunos in existence now.... Need the commercial version to come available.

I got an update from Ted today. It turns out that the problem he had with a press (used for the rubber molding of the flukes) was not a bad controller after all but a problem with the press itself-a temperature sensor I think he said. The result was that the controller could not properly control the mold temperature so curing was inconsistent. The problem is now fixed, first test flukes molded and performance tested, and final finish polishing of the mold to be completed today. This brings the whole project much closer to production; first complete 2015 Pro Lunocets may be mailed out as early as the end of this week. Ted said to extend his apologies for the technical delays and his appreciation for being patient. Looks like the issues have been worked out at last and he can start making the actual fins! I know we've been waiting a long time and heard of many problems, but it looks good at this point. Personally I've been swimming with my 2014 Pro combined with one of Chipswim's rubber discs to supplement the spring, and it has been working great for me so far. I can't wait to try out the newest Lunocet-I've been chasing a dream of the perfect monofin for a long time and I think Ted is building it :)

Neurodoc!

Thanks for the update!

Thanks for making the world's only exo Pro. Glad you like it. I think that result raises expectations for the new lunos coming SOON.!.!.!

Thank you, Chipswim, for sharing your lunohack exo-disc! It did make a huge difference, though I hope and expect the new two-joint peduncle and bigger spring will work even better. With the exo-disc spring boost, my Pro is about as fast as my carbon Glide. Maybe not quite; I haven't had someone time me-but it is close and that's a #5 carbon.
