I will on the island from the 1st late morn till 5th see you all soon or on the ferry.

Yep I'm on that one !Staying in new forest over night then short drive down early to ferry .Me n Mrs will be the little hobbits in dark blue jazz.!will try and sniff you out in bar know doubt!

We will be putting up a social schedule in a day or so in case any of you early birds want to meet up...

Ian I think you arrive the day before your hotel is invaded by the Jersey Crapauds that are also staying in your hotel!
However you have some good sunset bars just 5 mins walk away from you hotel, a reasonable restaurant + a slightly shady bar right on your doorstep & of course the hotel has a quite lively bar itself.

Thanks for that what have I let my self in for ?The sun set bars and restaurants sounds great the bride will be happy !.It was the location/access to the sea that made me go for it I hope them bays are fishable do any of you go there ? PM me if you don't won't to say any more !, If I see any fish and do get anything could some one freeze some fillets for me if we don't eat them party night?or if I can't sweet talk the hotel /chef!.

The Hotel will freeze them for you but bring a cool bag & freezer pack for transit home.
Yes the bays in front the hotel are very fishable ask jonny as this is on his doorstep too.
Sunset pub here mate Rockmount, Castel, Guernsey - pub details# beerintheevening.com very popular if it a clear night as every one hangs out for the green flash as the sun disappears...

I can hardly believe what I did last night....smoked four roll ups & drunk a bot of red wine...I have not smoked for 7 years & hardly ever drink red because it gives me gout .& what have I got today gout & a guilty conscience! Jonny, Eden & Duncan are diving, it is windy today but sw wind is ok.

yep, we dived, epic conditions altho a little windy!!!
very fishy with some clonker mullet about and quite a few bass.
However my fishing took second stage to the lightning and drumroll show and i preferred to video the amazing conditions. we could see the rain coming and when it arrived - it was awesome :) suddenly the vis [above water] dropped right down and the wind calmed as it got pretty dark too.
some piccies here, but i dont think they do it justice at all!

I was just arriving in St Peter Port when that storm hit. Freaky conditions, the rain seemed to knock the water flat, just leaving the swell, then after about 10 minutes, a series of waves swept into the harbour mouth, lasting about 5 minutes and reaching over a metre high. I sat it out in the pool, wasn't going to try to moor in those conditions.
